One of the all time greats in the NOLA media landscape. He will certainly be missed.

He was probably the most knowledgeable person about Saints history who was still alive. This is a big loss.

Great writer and human being. The TP went to shite when they forced him to retire.

Loved reading his articles every Monday after Saints games. A New Orleans original. He was able to bring words to life like no other. RIP Mr. Finney.

Remember reading his articles at the breakfast table before heading to school back in the 90's and early 00's.

Some say the kids today have it good. They don't realize what they missed out on.

Hands down the best sports writer the Times Picayune ever had. I used to love his Crystal Ball predictions of the coming year that he wrote every December 31. He was a walking encyclopedia of New Orleans sports. A New Orleans legend.

Damn, totally forgot about those. I loved them as well. Always kept it light hearted even when the Saints were terrible.

Now we are left with these attention whoring twitter jockeys who cover the Saints

Greatest loss to LSU and Saints FB in my generation. And I'm 62.

His son did my three shoulder surgeries. We talked about him several times. So sad, RIP.

These are the longtime media foundation members of the New Orleans Saints. Now they are gone. RIP Pete.

His son has operated on me twice. Great guy. We would sit and talk SEC football and golf.
