Seems to be the general consensus that we need to go WR in the first round this year. Who do you think is available and which first round graded receiver do you like ?

Im a big Chris olave fan. Smooth route runner with dangerous speed. Nfl draft comparison to scary terry. Im also a treylon burks guy. Big and physical and could be a problem in the right matchups. Honestly any of the top 5 wrs on the boards I’ve seen I’d be very excited about.

1. Garrett Wilson
2. Drake London
3. Chris olave
4. Jameson Williams
5. Treylon burks.
(No particular order just general top 5 from all lists I’ve seen)

Honestly I’d be happy with any of those guys.

I know MT is locked in and will be a huge help but we still need more weapons on offense.

Just pick Ohio State players in every round.

I like Burks' ability, but not necessarily his fit with the Saints. Mike Thomas is our physical intermediate WR. Burks isn't the deep threat that we need.

Give me Olave all day.

Olave would be my first choice, so smooth and would look great along side MT. Williams would also be a great addition, barring any setbacks from his injury.

I'm big on garrett wilson and jameson williams.

I do think jameson williams has to go to the right team or he might not be as successful as possible.

As far as drake I'm split. He had his way in the pac 12 but something keeps me second guessing myself. His production was crazy in just 8 games.

Drake London is a monster. USC has recently put out Michael Pittman Jr and Amon-Ra St. Brown at the WR position. London will be next in line. His ability to win jump balls and contested catches is crazy. Something we may need without an elite QB like Brees.

One thing you can see being successful in the NFL is Drakes high pointing the ball. He wins contested balls. Good hands. These make him a safe bet for success.

a number 2 has to compliment MT. He's a big bodied chain mover, so I think you need a guy who can either do damage underneath/slot work or a burner that can get behind the safeties. My vote would be underneath/slot since our QB situation might not be ideal and we already have Deonte Harris. Elite route running seems to be the ticket these days. Not sure which guy best fits that mold.

Agree. I truly don’t like any qbs in this draft at all for the first round. I’d also really like to see Jameis in a full season with some decent weapons around him. I think a speedy receiver with good route running and deep ball threat is the ticket. Jameis has a cannon and can throw a good deep ball. If we had that guy it would really open it up underneath for MT13 to feast . I think Olave is the guy. Mind you , any of those five I listed is a very exciting pick to me. Last year was a clown show at WR.

I want Wan'Dale Robinson in the 2nd round if we don't land London or Olave in the first.

thotty where are you on Justyn Ross? If medicals check out he would be a steal past round 1. Has WR1 upside

Keep an eye on those small school baws - Dai’Jean Dixon, Jalen Tolbert, Christian Watson - these guys are going to be nice players for someone

I almost included him in the #10 range with metchie, pierce, etc. But regardless he is right there with them. In my eyes, #7ish through the next like 10 players are all very, very close.

Did you see the kid out of ND at the combine? Kevin Austin Jr. Could be another steal due to lack of college production (shite QB play)

2nd best Atheltic Score for WRs coming out of the combine behind Christian Watson

6’2” 200 lb

quote:

Kevin Austin is a WR prospect in the 2022 draft class. He scored an unofficial 9.89 RAS at the Combine out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 29 out of 2557 WR from 1987 to 2022.

Totally agree.

If we were able to add any of these guys, are receiving corps could be a really solid group

Harris and Callaway both had good seasons I thought last year despite all the issues on offense

Callaway won't be asked to do the same things this year and I think he could continue to surprise people if he hasn't already.

Harris doesn't have any trouble getting open and is a good deep threat

I really hope we go after one of these guys in the first round but we'll see

I am a little concerned that the coaching staff may overvalue Callaway and think he can step us as the #2 once MT is back as the #1. I would still love to see a 1st or 2nd rounder come in and make Callaway battle this guy for the 2 or 3 spot. Then you have Harris work the slot, but more importantly you don't run him into the ground reducing his return effectiveness.

Well offensive line isn't out of the question in the first round but I think after seeing a season without Michael Thomas, perhaps they know that they better have a plan b in case he gets hurt again or what have you.

I'd be ok taking Penning if he is there, but ideally, I hope the trade back.
