Ingram had 20 carries for 46 yards. Robinson had 7 carries for 23 yards. Spiller had three rushes for 10 yards. Drew Brees rushed 2 times for 2 yards. That's a combined 32 rushes for 81 yards and a 2.53 YPC.

That's 30 dedicated attempts from the RB's that only got 79 yards. Bot Robinson and Ingram had a 2.30 YPC; Spiller was 3.33. I don't think it's from lack of trying, here. Sean Payton is calling the plays for the running game.

Ingram gets some credit. The two scoring rushes were solid effort. Real good effort, honestly. But the other rushes? He's running into blockers and going down at first contact. I still don't know if I can blame him or the offensive line, but I have to believe it's a combination of both. But more so the line than Ingram...JMO.

Does anyone have an update on Peat? I think once this line gets healthier with Peat and Armstead getting back into action we could see an improvement.

PS, I don't know who #76 Tony Hills is, but bravo dude. I have no idea if you will grade well, but you kept Drew Brees off the turf and no one called your name. That's a job well done.

The blocking just isn't very good. People criticize Ingram, but he's routinely hit in the backfield, and then we hear "he doesn't make stuff happen. He has to have a big hole." It's nonsense.

Robinson is better at breaking tackles, but his field vision is spotty.

What I'm hoping is that Armstead's comes back and Kelemete stays in the lineup over Lelito. It won't be great, but better.

How is Unger grading out? Is he playing well? It's hard for me to tell with the offensive lineman because I don't really watch them.

Unger is a massive upgrade over any spot starter we have had at center since original first run Goodwin.

His play has been awesome minus 1 bad game and even that may have had more to do with OL injuries inserting new starters around him mid game against one of the best interior DL in the league.

I would love to get some new ink on him and Armstead soon

At least they're getting carries and at least trying to get a run game. Plus Atlanta has a good rushing d

We don't need a dominant running game, we just haveto run the football do defenses know that we will. It's what opens the passing game. And Ingram is a fine running back. He runs hard and he doesn't complain.

Last night we gave Ingram a full back for I think 3 of his 20 carries. And they were all good.

It's hard to run out of single back when everyone in the stadium knows a run is coming. Dude needs a lead blocker which Payton is unwilling to ever give him.

If Khiry had Ingram's carries we'd have a better ground game. Ingram is too dancy while Khiry is a violent north-south downhill runner.

This right here. The guys in front of me where saying Ingram was trash after a play he got hit 2 yards in the backfield on. Adrian Peterson would have trouble running behind our run blocking.

Khiry has been just as bad as Mark. He's not a violent runner, he's just better in space. Neither gets much space. And Mark forced his way through tacklers for positive yardage on every run that game. I can't remember a single run where he wasn't hit at the LOS. Plus, Mark rarely fumbles. He averages a fumble every 110 attempts

Why is there no lead blocker? Sometimes I wish Les Miles was in Sean Payton's ear on the sideline.

I have never seen a nfl offensive line get whipped week in and week out like our oline is getting whipped. It's pretty terrible

Please do not forget the fact that Atlanta's run Defense is actually pretty stout. We made the attempts, and we won the game.

I do remember that now. They were only allowing about 78 yards per game before last night and the Saints got a combined 81. All in all, it is something.

If I'm looking for silver linings it's that Sean Payton did call 30 rushes.

Yep. Can't pass rush for shite, but you're not running on this line.

Under CSP, the team has almost NEVER been a good "run-blocking" team. Not sure if it's the actual talent of the OL or the O-line coaches, but something is wrong. We have done a good job of protecting Drew in the past, but to suggest that these same guys have never been "road graders". With the bevy of running backs we have and the backs we HAVE HAD in the past, our running production should be much higher than it is.

Atlanta has one of the better run defenses this year, gump. frick, we did better than most against them in that aspect. Think they are holding opponents under 100 per game. Our oline is patchwork and pedestrian right now also. Factor that in as well. Ingram is not the problem. He is a good back.

We had more rushing yards than Atlanta is averaging allowed last night.

And Payton called 30 fricking run plays.

Yea its something the Saints saw cause they raped throwing behind the LB'ers all night.
Maybe they cheat up to much to stuff the run or they suck in coverage but they had no answer all game. Drew made sure of it. A good game plan for once coach!

We need upgrades at both guard spots imo. We ran it 30 times lst night because we had a nice lead most of the game, thats not hard to figure out. Ingram is better at the 2nd level, khiry is better at creating his own runs. For as bad a run blocking oline as this is, khiry is probably better suited to run behind them.
