6 sacks, pressure all day, and 2 turnovers. I know Delvin got burned a few times but I still believe in him. I am not saying this is a legitimate top flight defense yet but they are showing promise and can be good with pressure like today along with good coverage. I am still encouraged and believe our best football is still ahead of us, especially on the defensive side of the ball considering the shite show in years past.

Who Dat.

PS- his foot was fricking out!

Rankins is going to be a really good player.

he's missed a handful of games but he's already overpowering blockers like he hasn't missed a beat.

the end of the game sucked but I agree.. the defense sure played better.

sometimes it seemed like the LB's weren't getting deep enough in coverage to help out underneath though. That would be my main complaint. There was one play in particular where I believe they converted on 3rd down deep in their own territory where Breaux was expecting more help inside/underneath but the LB didn't hardly get any depth.

Watching the Seahawks tear the Pats to shreds was telling too.

I think our front 7 is a force to be reckoned with when Ellerbe is in the game. He was even celebrating after that sack today, must of given him the good stuff

I agree, I like this front 7 and the way they are starting to play. They will only make the back end play better, the more pressure they get on the QB

need to bring that kind of heat on Thursday.

at least Carolina had a demoralizing defeat today as well. They were ahead damn near the whole game but choked it away in the 4th.

Cam Jordan had a nice day and Davison made a few nice plays on run defense. There was one play he blew up in the backfield and Robertson ended up getting the credit. But it was Davison who set it up pretty much.

The only sore spot in our defensive front right now is Kruger. I almost think they are one player away from being feared. He just looks slow to me

sounds about right.

i know they didn't score at all in the 2nd half. I was checking my phone for scores when I could during timeouts.

it seemed like they thought they had it in the bag or something and got conservative? But then a pick six changed the game. Eric Berry.

Kruger was okay.. the D-line was a lot more active than usual but I think its because guys like Davison, Rankins, and Fairley in the middle doing their jobs better than guys we've had there in the past.

but yeah, Kruger doesn't get off the snap all that quickly.

Rankins will be an absolute stud. Delvin is still shaking off some rust (anyone else notice he's got a wrap inside his sock) on the injured leg? Could be holding him back but he'll be back to normal soon enough. Can't say enough about this D. Fairley is playing motivated ball, Cam had a monster game, and that missing piece would be Kikaha. LB play has been night and day from years past. How about the progression of Vonn Bell? I'm excited to see the continued growth the future holds.

Big need is still DE, it's such a glaring hole opposite cam Jordan.

Otherwise I think the team did well, even Byrd looked good for the most part. If we can keep him at a discount, I'd honestly consider it considering our health

He played great outside of that 1st TD and 1 other play.

That game sucked

This team looked like a mess before the season started but the way they've progressed really just makes me think we're missing a few pieces. On offense we're gonna need a right guard in the second or free agency and then on defense I'm not sure which is more of a weakness, lb or de. Lb is good with Robertson and Ellerbe but you just can't depend on him to stay healthy

Cant wait to replace Byrd. He is SOFT.

Kruger is servicable but we definetly need an upgrade.

I was ridiculed on here for saying we should use Ellerbe as more of an DE/OLB for his speed to help with pass rush. (This was preseason when I assumed we would have "too many" linebackers. Assuming JL and SAnthony would be starters for sure)
My logic: if you can cover sideline to sideline with his size. You can get up the field on an offensive lineman. His stunt blitz yesterday was a thing of beauty. I really hope we use him more in this role. Kenny is fast but he seems to always get "chipped" away from the play. EllerBEAST does not.

Im loving the way our defense is coming together. Really need Kenny V to fight this suspension. He may be our MVP.
After his personal foul yesterday (albeit dumb) I wasnt even mad. I love that he is that type of player. Every team needs one.

Stupar has been pretty damn good. He isnt making game changing plays but he doesnt frick up. And thats huge.

For fricks sake someone get Steph on the adderall so his dumbass can get on the field! We could have a damn strong group if he would develop

I'd say LB is a bigger need than DE. The dline has been impressive the past few games but the LBs continue to get beat in coverage. Robertson is goo, Ellerbe is good but never healthy, and Stupar would be better as a backup. Hopefully we can get Zach Cunningham with our 1st.

It's only a 2 game sample size, but the 4 man rotation of onyemata, rankins, davison, and fairley is everything we wanted gone right.

Carolina suffered a devastating loss. Olsen indicated it was one of the worst losses in his career. Thursday's game will be who can get their minds right.

To be fair to Breaux, he was covering Demaryius Thomas. MostCB's in the league have a hard time with him. He's a big receiver in build. 6'3" and 230 lbs.
