Assuming he's voted All Pro.

Of course we'd like to sign him but at what cost. I'm sure Ingram would like to get paid as a top 5 back in the league like he's been past 2-3 years. He was on a 4 mill a year type contract. Top RB's in the league are getting 6-8ish million a year without question.

At what point are we going to let Ingram walk and feature Kamara? I have zero problems featuring Kamara but it will be difficult replacing Ingram in a two back role type rotation.

Saints need a pass rusher greater than ingram, he is doing great this year, but let him walk.

Having Kamara and his current season will make it pretty hard to justify spending out the arse for Ingram. He's been great for us this season no doubt, but his value will probably outweigh his actual production pretty soon.

Kamara would be less effective as a feature...you need Ingram, no reason to break up the most effective RB combo ever.

he's rushed for an average of 4.96 ypc for the past 3 years for us. kamara is incredible and can probably fill shoes just fine but we're still short on production.

He signed a 4mil/yr contract knowing it was below market value to stay.

If he wants 7-8mil, you give it to him. More than that and you can make another decision. He's played like a top 5 RB the last 2 years and he doesn't look like he's slowing down.

Ingram has one more year on his contract (after this year). He won't get all pro (this is the only way his contract can end this year)

on top of drew looks to be slowing down although still playing incredibly efficient and we're becoming a ball control and defensive minded team... ingram's value is even greater in a running balanced offense.

maybe taysom hill is filling in ingram's spot next yr.

He would have to be one of the top what 3 RBs in the league? he isn't even the top running back on his own team.

What if Brees says keeping them both is a condition of his return? You have to assume he loves not having to shoulder all the burden and replacing Ingram right away might be easy or it might not be. Big risk for a guy with two or three years left.

If he can leave, and I know I will take heat for this, let him go. Saints do not need to heavily invest $$$ at this position. He will probably want to dollar, and, not that he has t proven he’s worth it, but the Saints offense has other needs.
I think the biggest difficulty replacing him would be in pass protection/ blitz pick up as he has always been excellent in this area.
Having big money put into this position would be a mistake by the Saints. Ingram can/will have success elsewhere. Unless he re-signs for a similar contract, let him find greener pastures

he's 17 yards away from being number 2 in the NFL and he has a vastly greater ypc than any other back in the top 12 backs that are relevant to an all pro consideration.

Need to keep them together, just pay the man what he's worth he's actually earned his paycheck. I'm sure he dont want to go start over if he dont have to.

false my arse. he got hurt that year, missed like 4 and wasn't 100% in a few others. he was type 4-5 in ypc that year of all relevant backs. There are not 4 other backs that have been better for the past 3 years.

We know what we have in Ingram, why try to get someone else?

10th, 12th, and 13th the past 3 years. Not even close to being ranked top 5 one year.

If you re-calculate it for all the rb's that have missed games due to injury your argument probably does not get any better.

This year, yes he is playing great and a top 5 back by any measure.
But You are a homer if you honestly believe he has been a top 5 back the past 2-3 years prior to 2017.

We gave Fleener like 50 mil and people are worried about what we spend on Ingram? I'd actually rather reward production and keep someone here who will still be productive. Loomis is gonna Loomis anyway and don't see his $$'s preventing us from signing anyone we want. It's all monopoly money at this point anyway.

I think only 2 get the allpro designation.

325 total yards behind the #2 back in the league. Unless something changes, I think it will be Bell and Gurley for all-pro.

ETA: But if he does get allpro and his contract voids, I say pay him.
