I dont think the question is if the saints are better off with or without Jimmy. Obviously the Saints without Jimmy are far worse than they are with him. The real question is are the saints better off tying that much money up in a QB and TE. I think it really hinders their ability to put together a more competative roster than they had this year. I cant imagine the team without Jimmy though.

So are we saying Jimmy's foot injury is why he has allowed physical DBs who weigh 50 lbs less than him to treat him like he's their jail cell b!tch?
I would say it had something to do with it.
Seriously, imagine the feeling of having someone twist a pair of pliers on the tendon across the middle of your foot when you put weight on it.
There are things Jimmy can do better, no doubt. He can learn them, he's got all the tools. But to say the PF didn't affect him is just not fair.

Plantar Factitious means every time he steps off on the bad foot it feels like someone is taking a pair of needle nose pliers to the tendon on the bottom of his foot. I'd imagine that might have had a little to do with his lack of physicality at the LOS.
I don't think the guy needs to go. And he's a beast and young and all that. But his injury hurt the team.

Let jimmy go.
I'm probably one of the few regulars on here that think that Jimmy is replaceable. That being said, you don't let him go unless you have to let him go.

draft a new LT.
Armstead did well the last two games. I'm not opposed to drafting some offensive lineman. But you're probably looking for a new RT.

trade Ingram for a veteran CB.
What? I'm not sure his trade value is that high. And if anything, you want to keep Ingram around to rotate with Robinson and Sproles. I agree we need a new CB, but that should be addressed in the draft IMO.

Saints arnt far away from being a super bowl team.
And Ingram and Jimmy are a big reason why.

How about we also realize that our offense is set up that no one player is supposed to be the dominate guy every time. So, if Jimmy is shut down, there are other options. If things are going according to plan, no one receiver shoudl stand out.
This why the hell would you pay a guy that type of money when your offense isn't built to go through one guy.
Jimmy has in some ways handicapped Drew and Peyton. They force things things to him sometimes instead of letting thw game dictate his use. Same thing they did with Reggie.
Drew has always elevated his TEs his whole caree, Gates, Shockey, Jimmy. We were a top 3 offense without Jimmy before, if it needs to happen again it will.

In no way was I suggesting that because the Saints spread the ball around, that they should only sign cheap pieces of garbage to catch Drew's passes.
My point is that a bunch of people here are saying because Graham had an unproductive game here and there that we should let him go. Thats nonsense.

Yes I agree with you there. It should not be a question of production. Jimmy falt out balls. I just question if 12 millon is too much. You could get Finley (I know he is hurt it is just an example) for half as much, that wouldn't be that much of a drop off compaired to cost.

Look, that's my issue with the NFL and the cap. You have these outrageous deals that really hamstring the rest of the team into the future. I hate these huge deals and how they effect the rest of the team, but like I said earlier...without him, the Saints are 5-6 win team.

We should probably trade for the GOAT, "Chase Daniels."

I keep forgetting he's 27, almost 28.

I'd think about saving that money for Cam Jordan and fielding trade offers for Jimmy. Drew's contract will suck the life out of the cap beyond next year. You can't restructure him cause the dead money on the back end would probably be 1/3 the cap. Saints did great drafting last year, and brought a bunch of young free agents. They need to continue to do that. Bye bye, Harper, smith, jenkins, and Vilma.
Do NOT pay Jenkins.
Do NOT pay Jenkins.

Got us to the Divisional Round of the Playoffs.
Considering the market has dictated that Romo, Flaco, Matt Ryan, Eli Manning and Ben Rothlesburger are getting paid as much or more than Brees... Yeah, he's worth it.
I'm sorry, but someone should take down the names of the people who say stupid shite like this so we can remind them what it was like when we are going through the Billy Joe Tollivers and Heath Shuler's of the NFL.

Dude, you're trying to preach logic to the biggest mouth-breathing, knuckle-dragging bandwagon fans in our entire fan base. Dont waste your time with these ungrateful idiots. Let them go cheer for the Raiders if they don't want a good (let alone HOF) quarterback.
