Sounds like LB James Laurinaitis is biding his time after this #Saints visit yesterday. May take more visits.

Needs Brandon Browner to go out and set the market first for terrible washed up defenders.

Can't link at work. Who is that quote from? I heard that the Giants have interest in him as well.

Saints probably wanted him to be a backup and he probably wasn't a fan.

I don't think he's that great. But who will he back up? Is he a ILB or olb?

I agree. He's probably an insurance plan if Anthony gets hurt. He plays MLB doesn't he? I can't see him sliding over to OLB and actually playing well. We probably offered him backup money and he might take it if nobody offers him a starter job & starter money.

He probably met Benson and Tom tried to say his name.

We don't have much veteran presence LB depth at all. ILB including. James Anderson is the name on the chart right now.

Sounds like biding his time means a lack of interest around the league

He probably had to double check if he was in New Orleans or not. He heard we like our free agents fat and happy.

The only way this makes sense to me is if they plan on moving Laurinaitis (or Stephone Anthony) to strong-side LB and moving Kikaha to DE. Kikaha's playing time diminished after Dennis Allen became the DC last year. Kikaha is a better fit in a 3-4 than he is in a 4-3. Maybe they're going to use Kikaha as a 3rd down pass rusher?

That or make the defense what it should be, 3-4.

That could be what they're thinking. Guys like Kikaha, Davis Tull, Kasim Edebali and Obum Gwathcam definitely make more sense in a 3-4.

or wasn't enough guaranteed salary in his small vet deal. Saints probably were wanting him to earn his spot in camp with not as much on the hook for.

True & that would change everything. We would need a DE, a DT, & another MLB(Laurinaitis). We could actually get by everywhere else. I also think John Jenkins is better suited to be the NG in a 3-4.

if we had intentions on 3-4 (which i don't think we do at all), we can draft ragland at 12 who's probably a better player than most available and call it a day.

Yep. He would be perfect in that scenario. Buckner would also be perfect at DE.
