It’s easy to look at it and say the Saints got screwed, and yeah the short week sucks, but the two back to back means one west coast trip instead of two. It’s not so bad. If the Saints get to the bye =.500, they’ll take the south. Who Dat!

You really think the saints are just going to stay out west and not fly home to practice and game-plan?

Maybe

Probably save a total of 10 hours travel time, all things considered.

They will probably stay out there at a facility to practice and gameplan. You know this is not a novel concept, right?

Beat writers suggesting that they’ll stay. They have a good setup in the west coast for prolonged stays due to to the joint practices they’ve been doing with the chargers the past couple training camps.

You really think they wouldn’t practice and game plan out west? Teams do this regularly.

Yup that was my thought as well. They will stay and stay on west coast time and practice and so on out there.

I don’t know. That is why it was a question. What examples do we have? I know we have joint-practiced out west up to preseason games.

Yeah if anything I'd rather get those out of the way. Team will still be fresh those first few weeks. Our really only bad weather game may be @Tenn in December. Unless a storm hits or something, day game @Chicago shouldn't be bad.

Considering they are investigating doing just this, yeah I do. Will it happen? Not sure, but it's a smart move.

It happens regularly, we just haven't had the opportunity to do so in a few years. They'll probably hook up with some college or even a high school that doesn't mind sharing facilities. Adjusting to the time will be important for them as well. The earlier they get there, the better their bodies can adapt to the west coast time.

I think if it was later in the season it would be a better "favor" in that staying out west for a week would be a nice change of pace.

Seeing as it's in weeks 2/3, the season will still be new and exciting enough (and games against LAR / SEA big enough) to where the full 8 days out West (if we decide to do that) isn't a huge deal one way or another.

They will stay out West and all bunk at Brees' home in Del Mar. Easy.

Yesterday Bobby & Strief we’re talking about staying in Oxnard. The Saints are familiar with the location because of holding camp out there.

That's what I was thinking. I'm sure there's a football facility in San Diego that isn't being used.
