Cannot remember any discussion about him. Anyhoo, the commentary here is more notable than the JPP idea IMO.

New Orleans Saints: Jason Pierre-Paul, defensive end

Few teams take as many big swings in free agency as the Saints, and they usually miss. They have more cap space than they've had in years, and coach Sean Payton said adding a pass rusher is "a must" this offseason. With Jeff Fisher out of the league, Payton and GM Mickey Loomis are the new 7-9 kings. They should be feeling do-or-die pressure to deliver a winning season -- and that's a sure recipe to overspend like a bachelor party in New Orleans.

Have said here before that if we sign 1 FA this season, I hope it's JPP. Not sure how much money he is after, but he's worth it. We need to be in win NOW mode. Drafting a player like Barnett or Thomas would be nice, but realistically they will both take a year or two to fully develop. By that time Brees may be gone. Sign JPP, and go get a DB or LB with that first pick. 2 birds, 1 stone. JPP and Cam on the same line would be nasty.

And I bet half of them are injured by game 1.

Because he can produce on the field, or bc we will constantly have threads with the comments above?

LB yes, DB no. We need to focus on the front 7 and even if we sign a JPP, Ingram I think we should still get another DE/LB w/ the 1st pick. We need more than 2 guys that can get to the QB; it will help with rotation and give us multiple looks. Could you imagine a 3rd and long pine-up w/ Barnett or Thomas & JPP as bookends and Rankins & Cam on the inside.

ESPN Giants reporter Jordan Raanan considers the franchise tag a real possibility for impending free agent Jason Pierre-Paul.
The franchise number for defensive ends is around $17.05 million. On any long-term deal, JPP is expected to command $15 million-plus annually, so slapping him with the tag would allow for an extended negotiation period at a non-overbearing price for a top-end pass rusher who is still just 28. The Giants cleared $10 million in cap space by cutting Victor Cruz and Rashad Jennings. Raanan puts the chances that JPP is back with the Giants at 70 percent. Feb 20 - 11:31 AM

expensive as he or Ingram might be, I would rather get a proven product to guarantee more pass rush. Many of the edge rushing high picks have not panned out once getting to the NFL...
Jarvis Jones, Mingo, Damontre Moore, Dion Jordan, etc

Hell, get JPP or Ingram AND draft a guy in the 1st or 2nd. That's how bad I want to see some pass rush that other teams have to deal with. I think it was much smoke & mirrors for Atlanta, but their increased pressure was a key ingredient to their success last year.

The drink or the thing that could possibly blow off the rest of his hand?

7 sacks in 12 starts last year, 50 sacks in 69 starts equates to 11.6 per 16.

11 forced fumbles, 7 recoveries, 2 INTs, 42 passes defended

legit, just a matter of price

If we can sign him and re-sign Fairley, we could definitely see some fireworks on our d-line next season!
