QB Jameis Winston has agreed to a contract restructure for cap purposes, per source.

Winston, who turns 30 today, adds two years to his contract but that won’t affect his pending free agency - they void early in new league year to allow cap proration.

Just another example of Jameis being a true team player.

It’s hard not to like Jameis, quirky and funny to watch but seemingly a great teammate.

Thought Jameis was older than that

So true. I like the dude, wish he had been better for us.

The guy could be in the league a long time if he wishes. 2039 in Brady years

More future dead money for a player who won’t even be here. Nice, way to go Loomis!

Winston now hits:
2024: 4.57mil dead
2025: 7.301mil dead
2026: 3.934mil dead
2027: 567k dead

With that and the lattimore restructure, we're now projected 72.3mil over for 2024.

We're already 33.9mil over for 2025.

sigh...

He’s really not a good QB but he gets a bad reputation because everything i’ve seen is he’s a true team player. He will play many years in this league as a premium #2 QB.

Regardless of what happens with him it's hard to call a 4th round pick a bust.

You have a loose definition of “working”

It's genius, because it borrows future money. But I just want to honestly reset hard for 2 years, which obviously isn't happening with Carr on the roster.

Loomis is going to have this franchise in 5 year hell by the time he retires.
