Call it unrealistic or BS or whatever, but on this simulator I was doing, Adams fell to #11 along with Barnett. Do you take Adams's talent over Barnett or still go with the bigger need?

Personally, I'll take Barnett all day long. And that's not a knock against Adams. Barnett not only fills a need, but he's a complete end.

I don't know if Adams is an upgrade to Vaccaro (who's on last year of contract) but i know Barnett is an upgrade to every pass rushing talent on our roster.

Let me take a wild guess on which one you were using.

And no, I do not.

Yes this team needs playmakers on defense regardless of the position they play

That's not really how it works. When you have a great roster then you can draft BPA. When you have glaring weaknesses then you need to address them. Great safeties aren't going to help the defensive line. Great defensive linemen are going to help the safeties.

I love LSU, but I think our biggest need is
DE
OL
LB
CB
I like Barnett unless someone knows of a better DE
Let's see what free agents we can pick up and that will determine the first two draft choices

If Adams is there trade down and let someone else grab him. Too many safeties here

Extra 2nd rounder would be well worth it

Extra 3rd is worth it if we're only moving into mid teens.

The three safety set has become a staple in our defense and its not going anywhere. Jairus Byrd on the other hand, he will probably be gone in a year or two. Adams is a top 5 talent and possibly the best SS prospect to come out in years. You can't pass on that for Barnett, even though he's a good player in his own right.

Fans love production, but expect Barnett's stock to go down from the combine until draft day. He's not going to test well compared to the other defenders in our range. If they were both sitting there at 11, I'd bet anything we would go with the higher graded player who would definitely be Adams. But there's no chance Adams falls to 11, so we don't have to worry about it.

Adams will not fall that far. IMO of course

1) It's hard to say who to take until FA.
Much more available in cap space than in the recent past.

2) Depends on what happens 1-10.

No one really knows. Strange things happen
