Is this the year our D gets enough takeaways to push us into the playoffs?

We all know our offense will be at least in the top 10 and likely in the top 3-5. We have added pieces for the D line to see improvement and if our secondary stays healthy, I could see a lots of INTs this year, especially having cut bait with Ryan and getting a seemingly forgotten added bonus of Allen as the Def Coordinator. Takeaways could be the difference in being a playoff contender or another wasted year.

while that would be great i wouldn't count on it. let's stuff the run and get pressure on the QB so we can get a bunch of 3 and outs.

The Saints would have multiple Lombardis if not for the defense.

Just stop the run (under 4 YPC) and play decent pass defense.
Giving up 6.6 YPP on defense was so far down the list, we should've been ranked 34th.
Even the NYG only gave up 6.1.
The Saints' defense last year really should be known as one of the worst ever. It will be on all of those NFL "Top Ten" list for decades. The only reason they didn't get more flack is b/c Drew Brees was able to win 7 games.
There's been a lot of enthusiasm this board after a few practices, but there's a long way to go.

Defense has added players and should be improved.....how much we shall see but improvement after just one off season of additions should be measured. We need one more defensive draft!!!

The defense just needs to be good at one thing whether it be takeaways, red zone defense, shutting down the run, etc vs being terrible at everything
