Bush is a clean 1.95M cap savings if cut. I've been wanting to trade Bush for draft value. Some safety needy teams out there but then again our starters have been hampered by injuries to say the least.

At this point who is out there other than say Evan Mathis that could warrant us cutting Bush?

They need every penny they can get next year, so they could just carry the money over.

If Byrd were healthy, I would consider dealing him. Not now, though.

Agreed. We need more Bush since Byrd is not in the hand.

A healthy Byrd in the hand is worth two in the Bush.

I would trade him if you could get a fair return at a premium position.

Cut him outright absolutely not.

Warren, Sanford, Phillips, and Sunseri are not bad reserves by any means.

Bush is a lower end starting caliber safety and very good depth to have but the overall drop in talent level is not as vast at our Safety position vs others positions of need on the team.

DE is still a pretty thin position for us, as is OG. If either starter on either side of those lines goes down...we would be in a world of hurt.

I'd like to see more depth at guard to be honest. As long as we have #9 keeping him safe in the pocket should be the main focus.

I think last year showed the more secondary depth, the better

I'd only cut him if it meant upgrading or adding depth at guard

Other random note: the last two days, Pierre Warren has been one of the most vocal guys on the field.

Warren also got some extensive time with 1's, split w bush i think.

I don't want to get rid of bush but very few possibly cuttable vets on roster that gives us cap space of note.

I guess my theory all along was bush was valuable and contract friendly to warrant a decent compensation pick back. An extra pick next year will be nice as we'll be a bit cap strung with junior's contract.

Warren doesn't have the physicality bush has, but he can make some plays when the ball is in the air.

Warren is our best safety in pass coverage. Byrd might change that if he ever gets on the field.
