Ingram has been getting pulled out on the goal line all season long.

Because he couldnt break the seal on a cold drink much less a tackle from and NFL defender.

What a display of selfishness on his part. Instead of being happy his team just went up by 2 TDs, he is throwing a hissy fit because he did not get the carry. I feel more comfortable with Hightower running the ball anyway.

He is throwing a a fit because he has a 100k incentive tied to TDs and he has been getting pulled all season on the goal line.

I would rampage if my employer obviously tried to prevent my from getting my bonus. RBs shelf life is short and the window for peak earnings is even shorter. Every dollar counts and that was a blatant money grab by the Saints.

When the game is on the line in the 4th quarter his mind should not be on his contract.

It's not about contract it's about 6 yards per carry and just give you the game and you take me out! Give this guy the rock! And yes give him a bone

Hightower had one TD on the season before this game and it was in a game where Ingram went off.

And Hightower was playing his former team today so Payton called his number for the short rushing TD's. Ingram is a good RB but he was being an inconsiderate total diva.

I know at the beginning of last game Ingram would get 100k for like 230 more yards by end of year. High-power only needed like 100 to get a 75k incentive bonus but I don't think that is why Ingram was bitching

Ingram picked up a 1st down on 3rd down which setup a 1st and goal from the 2 or so. Payton yanks him and puts Hightower in. Hands it off to Hightower on 1st down for a TD.

ETA: and Ingram was hot about it. He gave SP an earful on the sideline.

he's still a top five running back.

Maybe not top5, but top 10 at least.

He is second in the league with 5.1 ypc for all backs with 100+ attempts, was 9th, 14th, and 8th the previous three years. He also is the only back in the league with more than 800 yards (850) with under 202 rushing attempts (163). I realize people hate on him because he is an Alabama back and most of the fanbase are LSU fans, but the disdain for a back that has done nothing but produce in an offense that is not conducive to running back production is laughable.

Let's also not forget who took a team friendly restructuring to help give us some cap room to get better, when fan favorite (rightfully so) Drew Brees held off doing the same ultimately costing the team from being able to make substantial upgrades during the offseason.

I think this outburst was wrong place wrong time on Ingram's part, but to discredit his value to the team is asinine.

He has two more games with the Saints and after that, the Saints would be dumb to bring him back under any scenario.

If you want to hurt the running game, sure, go for it.
