He's saying the hit by CGJ that caused the fumble was targeting and hit on a defenseless player.

I said screw that he made a football move. So who's correct?

Looked like targeting when I saw paint chips fly off his helmet, but real time just looked bang bang

Did the ref throw a flag for targeting? Because if not, he’s wrong. Boom

CGJ lead with the shoulder and helmets never made contact. It was a brutal hit but nothing illegal or malicious.

To me it looked worse in real time, slow motion clearly showed CGJ leading with his should.

If it really was targeting it would have been called on the Saints.

Maybe he shouldnt have lowered his helmet and allowed himself to get smacked in the face with shoulder pads

Maybe he should have held on to the ball IDK

the thing is, the refs believe he made a football move, which leads to a fumble.

if it was a hit against a defenseless player, that would mean he didn’t have time to make a football move, and it shouldn’t be a fumble.

the refs went with he made a football move and then fumbled, therefore no flag.

Player came in to make a tackle AND turned to avoid helmet to helmet. Receiver ducked his head going down.

Can't fault the DB on that. Tried to hit him as clean as he could with what the receiver gave him to hit.

It was mostly shoulder that he hit him with I think, so no targeting there. He's def wrong and just salty that his team lost! Lol

This is my gripe with the rule, most times on those penalties, the ball carrier ducked his head to brace for impact and causes the helmet to helmet hit, but the defender is the one penalized for it

100%. The penalty should be nullified if the receiver ducks his head outside of the case where the defender launches himself off the ground into him.

Receiver became a runner therefore targeting & a hit on defenseless receiver goes out the window.
