None of the teams in our division are good or bad enough to lock up any spot 1-4 imo. The Panthers are probably the worst, and the Bucs are probably the best, but they could easily swap imo

That description is, unfortunately, about as good a description of the NFC South as there is.

The Falcons, Bucs, and Saints basically have 3 versions of the same player. They also have 3 versions of the same head coach. This division is wide open.

Cousins is good and underrated, so they should be better off than they were. He’ll also be 36 before the season starts.

I MUCH rather this than them getting Jayden Daniels which I was sure would haunt the Saints for many years

That's not a long term solution in Atlanta.
Cousins is old and he might have one or two decent seasons left, coming off an achilles at that age isn't ideal.

Look how bad Brees and Ryan fell off in those later years of their careers. It happens to all of them.

Falcons have a top 5 OL unit, some young offensive pieces and 4 picks in the top 80. They have the potential to be a dangerous offense with Zac Robinson running the show

They invested a lot in the Defense last season as well.

Assuming Cousins is healthy they’ll come out of the draft with the best roster in the division. They can even use 1.8 to fetch more capital

This 1000%. Career wise I think is Cousins has been better than Carr by a fair amount but he’s older and coming off an Achilles so maybe he struggles. But even if they win the division this coming season, much rather this than them getting a potential franchise rookie

Cousins is a nice guy but he is a Matt Ryan 2.0 and look what we did to Choking Matty ICE

Who’s we, the Patriots he did win an MVP and got to a SB but the Saints also had a much better elite QB in Brees during Ryan’s career.

ATL is a lot more loaded than many on here will admit.

There is a reason they were the darlings of the analytics community going into 2023. Smith/their QB situation just worked against it. ATL is the top "worst to first" contender of 2024 right now.

I would complain but think about how Carolina fans must be going through.

Good.

I like our chances as underdogs.

The Saints feast when people underestimate them.

Atlanta is about to boat race the rest of the division in off-season hype which I agree I like that.

Cousins has been a pretty good quarterback but he's 36 in August and coming off a torn Achilles.

I guess my question would be where was this sense of urgency last offseason when they needed a quarterback I mean they didn't really think Ridder was going to be the guy did they?

I think it could go either way. Cousins pre injury was better than Carr but who knows now.

Both teams have a 9-8ish absolute ceiling to me and will get obliterated by anyone with a real pulse.

how are things at Castle Anthrax? are the spankings still occurring? is it too perilous, or can 1 face the peril?
