Not sure if Loomis tells him this or if Benson has some henchman that would relay the news to him, but Payton needs to be tasked with getting the defense right, and fast.

Dennis Allen looks as clueless as Rob Ryan, and the defense looks to be even worse. I understand we are missing starters, so I can give some leeway there, but we play very sloppy football fundamentally. We miss tackles and we break contain all the time. There is no fire from the defensive side.

Payton essentially has Brees for one more season, and a change must be made. He should be forced to hire an up and coming assistant and allow that assistant to put his staff together.

I hate it, but Payton has turned the coaching staff into a place for his friends to hang out. Joe Vitt and Bill Johnson have produced subpar units for years now. The front 7 has been terrible, and they can't develop young talent at these positions.

Dennis Allen is just another Payton buddy who is clearly not the right fit.

We don't seem to be good at D no matter who the DC is.

The only constants have been Sean Payton and Mickey Loomis (And Joe Vitt and Bill Johnson). I'm not sure it matters a whole lot at this point who the DC is.

Cronyism is alive and well in New Orleans.

Some point we have to look at Payton. He picks the DC and everyone giving Payton a pass because he won a SB. All this deadmoney, bad drafting, bad DC hires, and bad free agent signings. So he doesn't have a say in any of these I listed?

a bandaid isn't going to fix your fricking leg that's cut off. a coordinator can not fix not having talent and players required.

Payton is awful at staff hires. That is his downfall unfortunately.

As long as Vitt and Johnson are coaching our players, the D will remain trash no matter who D-Coordinator is, but ppl have been saying this for years. Nothing new.

are you serious? what about the Giants game? 3 take aways, no points on offense. We held their receivers off for most of the game with back up CBs against one of the game's elite receivers.

We have no pass rush because we have no pass rushers. How is that on Allen? Allen might not be a top 10 DC right now, but I think with our starters, he is not bad and at least deserves a chance beyond 3 games with 3rd stringers.

Hell yeah Zombie a total waste of 1st round all pro talent with loads of game experience on our defence.
Have you seen the depth at CB and DE stupid dumb f@ck Allen is wasting? He just lets the best players sit on the bench all game. Its nuts. Just like Les and he got fired right?

So what Allen has lost 7 damn starters he should be coaching up those bench players to beat anyone.

Williams did a good job, and Ryan had one great year and one bad year (after cutting all the veteran leadership) before bringing Allen in and having him frick it up more.

And if it wasn't for the PLAYERS forcing fumbles last week we wouldn't have looked nearly as good. Fumbles are not in anyway a scheme take away (though maybe we are teaching better technique?).

Allen's scheme and play calling is god awful and putting the players in bad spots. Byrd should not be so deep. We should cover backs BEFORE they catch the ball. Wouldn't shouldn't guard the sticks and give up the easy pass every damn play. And his run fits are just horrendous.

Allen needs to go.

What keeps me from going apeshit on Dennis Allen is that I think the Saints do have players. They are just in the infirmary.

Don't know x's and o's enough to rag him or not but I would like to see a corner blitz just once. Or did I miss it?

Cant really blame Dennis Allen for injuries piling up and having to play young inexperienced guys.

FWIW, I still think Payton is a great coach and can get alot out of players with very little. We knew going into this season that this was going to be a very young, inexperienced bad team. The Saints do not have very good running backs and a good offensive line. That is definitely in part to Payton, but he has also been handcuffed by the salary cap the last 3-4 years. We've had alot of bad drafts and FA signings, also on him. Had Byrd not been injured after we signed him, he could have been just as good as he was in Buffalo, who knows.

We're exactly where we thought we would be and we're calling for coaches to be fired. He will be a head coach for another team if we can him, I guarantee it.

We dont have the secondary to be sending corners we pull off the practice squad on a blitz. An NFL QB will gladly take that look.

i dont know how anyone can blame Allen. Maybe our defense does suck, but you cant really tell with all the injuries. Even when fully healthy, the personnel is not very good

so what? so is John Fox and look at that. The NFL usually gives coaches second chances. Look at the league right now. I can name a handful of HC from another team.

We need new attitude and energy. Complacent Payton does seem like the answer anymore.

Agree to disagree. The Payton+Brees combo is the best option they have at winning. I wouldnt be surprised if they made a change at HC after Brees retires.
