If Drew Brees is overpaid, what is his price then?

18mil/yr?
What offensive lineman, defensive lineman worth a damn would you get for 2mil/yr? None.
Some of you really want to go back to 5mil/yr QBs like Aaron Brooks or something.

Aaron Brooks had a nice smile and is a Saints Hall of Famer.

He's restructuring his contract in the off-season.people need to chill with the Brees salary talk
Posted on 11/24/14 at 11:21 pm to htran90
He should volunteer for the privilege of being the object of our criticism.

He needs to take less so the team can get better lineman before he gets killed. shite his wife probably approve it.
A rattled Brees is an average quarterback.

He's not taking less money. Loomis isngoinf to back load his contract so it frees up space for the next 2-3 years

Contrary to this board's belief, Drew Brees is underpaid
He was by far the best player on that field today. Anyone with eyes could see it. He extended drive after drive by avoiding our shite interior line's play
We could pay him with Jahri's $11 million cap hit this season

We all know that he's going to re-work his contract, but everyone and their mom continues to shove their football knowledge saying 20mil/yr is too much for him and he's costing the team.
Well if 20mil is too much, what is the price for an elite franchise QB not named Rodgers, Brady, or Manning.
Evans and Grubbs are the 2nd and 4th highest paid guards in the league (8.1 and 7.2mil respectively), yet Evans is the worst rated pass protecting guard in the league and Grubbs is near the bottom.

Their cap hits are actually $20.1 million this year between the two of them.
I hate to say it, but it might be time to look at Jahri's backup for the rest of the season

The way Strief played tonight we need to look for his replacement too.

He really has no incentive to restructure. There is no replacement in the draft for the future and I would expect FA to be just as bad.

Agreed it is time to find a replacement for both. They have been beyond bad this season.

Which is why we will offer to extend his contract at the same rate.

I think he is worthy of getting paid around the same as the 10th best QB in the league right now (not sure what that number is or whom it might be).

Alex Smith is the 10th highest paid QB in the NFl at $17 million/year
1. Rodgers - $22
2. Ryan - $20.75
3. Flacco - $20.1
4. Brees - $20
5. Manning - $19.2
6. Kaep - $19.0
7. Cutler - $18.1
8. Romo - $18
9. Stafford - $17.667
10. Smith - $17
11. Palmer - $16.5
12. Manning - $16.250
I think he's getting paid pretty damn fairly. We're going to hopefully try and extend him 2 years at the same rate

Looking at that list I would say $17-$18 mil would be right. Top 4 is way off this year, no way in hell.
