Booing during a moment of silence is much more disrespectful than anything the players have done that has been called disrespectful by the same crowd.
bottomline is our idiot players took a knee to protest muh police brutality (that's what taking a knee is all bout right? or has that changed already?) during a moment of silence for a fallen black police officer.

The boos were because some players were kneeling, and they figured they were protesting the moment of silence for the officer. I don’t know if that was the case or not. It’s just sad that it’s come to this. A man lost his life, and people don’t know wether to sit or stand, boo or cheer. I would like to offer my condolences to the officers family and thank them for the service he provided us. God Bless You all in this difficult time.

There's no point in arguing. Some of these people can't get past their fandom to see that the crowd was calling the players out for protesting police during a moment set aside for a murdered officer. The boos were on the slain cop's behalf and these clowns know it, yet they're going to rationalize their heros' abhorrent, self-centered behavior. No kneeling, no boos.

On their behalf, lolz. I'm sure it made their family feel warm and fuzzy. They did it for themselves.
Sounds like you're trying to rationalize their booing during a moment of silence for some reason. Sounds like abhorrent, self-centered behavior to me, and you know it.
You do know where the kneeling came from instead of sitting? It was a green beret's idea as a way to honor those who gave their life instead of being disrespectful.
This is tiresome. No matter what they do, people like you are going to melt and be offended.
Done. Won't even give this silly topic another thought.

That's a perfect example of what I'm talking about. Everyone knows kneeling before the game in the NFL is protest. Now you keep contorting though. Need to rationalize.

Saints fans are just trying to match Ravens fans who booed players who knelt for a prayer:
LINK
quote:
Announcer: "Before the singing of the national anthem, please join Ravens players and coaches and the entire Ravens organization to pray that we as a nation embrace kindness, unity, equality and justice for all Americans."
This was followed by a few seconds of applause, and then the players kneeled and the stadium filled with boos.

Where did I say it wasn't a protest?
I can only write the words, I can't comprehend it for you too....
But thanks for proving my point. No matter what is said or done, you'll be offended. First it was kneeling during the anthem. So now they stopped doing that and you're still crying.
It's pathetic. I can't imagine being this upset about something so meaningless.

I didn't boo, nor am I crying. I'm simply pointing out what happened and how the superfans are trying to rationalize the players' protest during a moment for a fallen officer.

All I know is that if I am Benson, I see that my own home crowd, the 80k that pay the bills, booed loudly at my team of assclowns taking a knee and cheered when they all stood up for the anthem. Don't mess with the lifeblood.

No, frick every fan who booed, won't complain if they never buy a ticket again. How anyone who isn't a self centered a-hole can think it's a good idea to boo during a moment of silence, no matter the reason for their boos, is beyond me. Players have run out of the tunnel and taken a knee for years, at every level, and often get up making the sign of the cross, you know like saying a quick prayer before the game.
If you people hate the NFL and Saints so much stop coming to this board. There is no, none, nada, zero, zilch, justification for booing during a moment of silence.

Nothing about that yesterday was politcal. It was about human decency. I can't believe people would actually take up for this action.

So let me get it straight?
Some players knelt during the national anthem a few weeks ago.
Some fans didn’t like it because it disrespected the flag.
So the players decided to kneel before the anthem and stand when the anthem started.
A thread was started basically saying that the Saints wouldn’t honor the fallen police officer shot in NOLA last week.
The Saints did honor the falling officer by having a moment of silence before the anthem.
The Saints players took a knee as they planned to do before the anthem then stood for the anthem.
A few fans booed the players when they knelt, during a moment of silence for a fallen police officer shot in the line of duty.
Those same fans cheered when the players stood during the moment of silence right before the national anthem.
Suntiger has no dog in this hunt, but the fans who booed are in the wrong here. No justification for that. They got their way that players are standing for the anthem, but apparently they can’t do it correctly now and then those fans boo during a moment of silence for an officer shot in the line of duty. Not cool.
