I've always defended him, but no more.

Only if benson sells the team and new guy cleans house.

As weird as it is id rather keep SP until benson goes/sells and remain just kinda shitty and at least somewhat stable. Keep benson/loomis and get rid of SP/Brees and we could become the browns with a quickness. As soon as we have decent ownership cut the head off.

I agree. The window has been shut. Time for a new coach and QB. Rebuild it

I've had this feeling before. When LSU lost to Wisconsin, I had the same shitty, frustrated feeling that I have now.. it wasn't that we lost, or how we lost.. it's the fact that we already know we are in for another season just like last year.. all offseason we were promised change and we heard enough BS to get our hopes up only to know after the first game, that it would be another year of the same old shite

Sorry for my drunk incoherent rambling

It's not that I was trolling the board, but as recently as last year we had people saying he was one of the best coaches in the league. That was an absurd statement then, and I doubt you will ever hear it uttered again

He's still a top 12 coach.

Problem is there is no one there capable of making a "clean the house" decision ! You think Benson is capable ? Mrs. Benson ? Dennis Luscha ? Loomis ? The organization is screwed until either new ownership arises or a new strong GM takes full control and cleans house !

You were definitely trolling with it as far back as 2014 when Sean just had his first 7-9 season. it was only one season and nobody here was going to believe you.

But then it happened again in 15, and 16

Team needs to be blown up from the top down. No one should feel safe. But Loomis is the safest guy in the league. And has already said that they won't hold Payton from leaving. Loomis is running our franchises into the ground.

And get what with our owner being a vegetable and all?

Not the point.

You had no basis for calling Payton's firing in 2014 and still persisted with it like an idiot.

Hell, it's only one game this season and we'll see if you're indeed correct even though odds are in your favor.

This team needs a wholesale culture change and that won't happen until the Bensons sell the team.

Tom Benson doesn't give a frick how good his team is right now. It's just a revenue stream to him.

I don't care what the Saints do at this point. I'm totally apathetic and I will be excited about the Saints next time they are in the playoffs as a Division Champion.

I care. I'll still watch and still cheer and bitch, but it's time for something to change. LSU made the change and looks to have turned it around quickly. Hopefully Saints can do the same.

The problem is that Payton is not going to leave on his own. Dallas doesn't want him anymore, and his stock has dropped tremendously

Eh let's see how the rest of the season shakes out. If they finish 7-9 or worse then yeah it might be time to move on. Only thing is do you trust Loomis to make another competent hire? He struck gold hiring Payton in 06 and fortunately for him he hasn't had to worry about going through a coaching search for over a decade.

Best thing that could happen is for Benson to sell the team. New owners clean house and start over from top to bottom!!
