And if next season he does really well after a just normal down season this year behind a horrible O-Line, yall will be the same people praising him and saying how lucky we are to have him. So pathetic

Aaron Rodgers is in a tier all by himself.

Yes he did.

I apologize. Elite quarterbacks routinely throw game-clinching interceptions at home against their archrivals in make-or-break games, and also throw three interceptions (two in the red zone) against the worst team in the league. Brees is elite!

I already said, "I'm glad we have him." But he has regressed.

Yes.

I know it's hard to believe great quarterbacks can and do have shitty games and moments.

Thats a big "if" bud and the money he is making is ridiculous for his performance.

Let me know when Brady or Rodgers loses 5 straight home games. Or when they commit as many game-ending turnovers as Brees did this year

Those guys may have awful games, but they dont have mediocre and bad seasons.

I gave Brees hell in the beginning of the season but after seeing how bad this O-Line is and constantly playing behind trying to make plays happen to comeback and not to mention were ranked 32nd in starting field position on offense. Nothing goes in Brees' favor. Any Elite QB would struggle behind our offense.

Sorry, I'll just try and pretend Brees hasn't thrown 2 red zone interceptions today against a team in contention for worst record in the league. Brady does that all the time.

There's no doubting the O line is a huge problem. Most all great QB's have great or at least good offensive lines - Drew doesn't. The offensive line doesn't, however, excuse some of his critical decision making or errant passes we have been seeing lately. That pick against the Falcons that cost us the game? All on Drew.

So what happens next year if we have a better o-line and he plays elite? You don't just flip a switch and go elite and back. Give him some protection and see the difference. Romo is not playing more elite, he just have a solid line helping him out.

Brees is elite.

He has elite stats.

He makes elite money.

He has an elite surface pro.

He plays with ropes and shite and was on the cover of SI.

W-L in the NFL has nothing to do with it. Sincerely, Archie Manning

That's a good point, and I should probably edit my original post. When there are only 32 teams, and thus 32 starting quarterbacks, Brees is clearly elite in that sense. I know that sounds contradictory from what I've said- he has an elite body of work, no doubt, and is still one of the best quarterbacks out there. But his play when it has counted for much of this season (and that may be due to coaching, O line, etc). has not been on the same level as other 'elite' quarterbacks like Manning, Brady, and Rodgers. Brees is not above criticism. He has underperformed when it has counted this year. He continues to make baffling throws that have cost us dearly. If he is truly up there with the most elite quarterbacks still, he will rebound next year.

I still think he still has some good years left in him but those interceptions are not on the o line. They were all on him.
