i ran a mock schedule through my chad504boy projection portal 10,000 x's.

I concluded the saints will win 10.9 games and lose 5.1.

The NFL is so close. It comes down to a handful of plays. Usually those are turnovers. This was evident last year. I wouldn't be surprised for them to be between 6-10 and 10-6. Yeah I know I'm stepping out with that prediction but the NFL is that close.

I think us and ATL will scrap for division if we sweep them head to head we will win it outright. A season split and we will be watching a tight race all season one that could favor ATL due to having a slightly easier schedule. Either way I see the NFCS producing 2 playoff teams this year.

I feel like these are the ranges of records (barring injury to starting QBs)

Atlanta: anywhere from 6-10 to 11-5
Carolina: anywhere from 6-10 to 10-6
New Orleans: anywhere from 6-10 to 10-6
Tampa Bay: anywhere from 5-11 to 10-6

The Saints having the QB who can be best in the league coupled with the best home field advantage makes me think that they are actually TEEENY favorites despite me having Atlanta with a higher ceiling.

I think this is definitely one of the most evenly matched divisions (on paper) in the history of the NFL. All 4 teams could finish anywhere from 1st to 4th. I don't think there's another division like that in the entire league.

How do you figure?

There is no way that Chicago could win the NFC North
There is no way that Washington could win the NFC East
There is no way that San Francisco could win the NFC West
There is no way that NY Jets could win the AFC East
There is no way that Jacksonville could win the AFC South
There is no way that Oakland could win the AFC West
There is almost no way that Cleveland could win the AFC North.

The AFC North is the only possible division that you could say "anything is possible" but it's way more of a stretch than say Tampa (biggest "underdog" winning the NFC South and Atlanta (biggest "favorite) finishing last.

There's so many impossibilities until it happens.

What if you could add a caveat that "unless injuries to starting QB's of historic proportions occur". Like both Aaron Rodgers and Matt Stafford going down in week 5. That's seemingly the only way that Chicago could win the NFC North.

Those caveats can become reality, so yes, it is true of every division.

I'm not! This d is awful and too many key injuries to begin with. Dead money on the roster and Byrd might never play for Saints during the contract he signed. Brees took up all the money and the window has closed just like it will for Rodgers, Wilson, Luck, etc

How did Brees take up all the money if we have so much dead money and also have Byrd?

Kind of competing thoughts there...

Honestly, I dont know what to think. We've really not gotten to see the whole offense or defense on the field for any extended action.

I'm worried about the secondary, unless we conjure a pass rush. I think the offense will be very 09'ish based upon the moves we've made, and I'm encouraged by the play of the O-Line in the preseason. Other than that, its a crapshoot.
