Even last season you can look at his best "few" games and find the other Saints RBs were still averaging more YPC.
He's averaging over 5.5 ypc over his last 16 games. He's leading the league in ypc year among qualified backs

166 carries in 16 games. Come on, bro. DeMarco Murray has more carries in 8 games this season.

while ingram is dragging his nuts on the naysayers, I just wanted to let you know I added another 3" kimber, and I found a steal on some pearl grips

Carolina's stadium wasn't full at kickoff last night and was empty well before the game ended. That's the way it is in the modern era with games being televised.
Not for Saints games

You bastard! Did you post it on the OB yet? Got a link?

Damn, it really dropped since last game

His 3.33ypc sucks.
I was happy to see that when he got met in the backfield, most of the times he made a move or two and gained 1-2 yards instead of losing the 2 yards we are usually used to seeing.

Ingram averaged 3.3 ypc last night

Haven't read the thread, so can I just guess that rant tards still hate Ingram?

every runningback is going to have that game
if you want to dismiss his bum shoulder, the injury at RT, the short week on the road in the division, the talent on Carolina's D, and the multiple short yardage runs
then go ahead...ingram is the back so you'll just have to suck it while we pile up wins

Is he a type of RB that can average 250 carries and 5ypc?
Probably not, we're bad downfield blockers and he doesn't have that speed to burn rubber.
Can he be the type of RB that can hit 250 carries and 4.5ypc?
Yes, and that's all I want.

whoever had a problem with last night's 3.3 doesn't know football. That 3.3 was well fricking earned and Carolina was going all out stacking that line and preventing us from getting that run game going.

Adrian Peterson, DeMarco Murray, Marshawn Lynch, Jamaal Charles, Matt Forte, LeSean McCoy, Ryan Matthews, Eddie Lacy, C.J. Spiller, Arian Foster, Doug Martin...
Also Frank Gore, La'Veon Bell, Alfred Morris, and Justin Forsett are four others that are as good or better than Ingram, and maybe even Fred Jackson.
So that puts 15 equal or better and I'd say 12 are significantly better over time.
That doesn't even include Jeremy Hill and a few other rookies that are standing out.

Unless the saints are willing to pay stupid money, Ingram is gone. And the Saints aren't going to pay top dollar for a running back under Payton... Ever.

Ingram is a good back and he's slightly above average at best when you look at his career as a whole.
His injuries alone should warrant any team from giving him above average money. The guys has played 1 full season in 4 years and has missed 14 games in 3.5 years. That isn't a guy you put a lot of money into right now.
I'd like the Saints to keep him, but I think getting a back in the draft is likely the best avenue for the Saints.
Look at guys like Lacy, Hill, Morris, Ballard, Bell, Bernard, and Stacy just in the last 3 drafts. Ingram is not that much better than those guys if better at all and has been in the league 4 years.
In the end, I think the bigger thing is Payton learning to trust a feature back more than Ingram being so awesome.
After his first 3 rushes yesterday, Ingram went 27 rushes for 78 yards or 2.9 yards per carry. That's not dominant. He only got 100 yards because he ran it 30 times.

He's playing well but the facts are this:
He didn't show much production before this season. It makes you question if he's only playing in a contract year and it also makes you question his character. Does this mean much? Not necessarily it could just be that the light came on finally.
He's injury prone.
Those 2 reasons alone should prevent him from getting big money. If he wants to come back at a reasonable price I'm all for it. Otherwise, if he thinks he's worth top 5 RB money cya.
