We're arguing 2 different points. I've always said the Falcons and others probably did do the same exact thing and that y'all were made a scapegoat.
I've said that for years.

However, if you and others are arguing that you're not guilty of that same point, that's where you're wrong.

You ARE guilty of the crime you were accused of. Do I think others were doing the same and y'all were punished excessively? Absolutely, but that's not the point were arguing.

I think most Saints fans have always admitted we had a pay for performance system. And like you said, we felt like we were the scapegoat here.

My biggest issue is the punishments we received and how the NFL basically ruined someone's career

The punishments should've been a slap on the wrist, if anything

The problem isn't the crime. It's the punishment. You don't put someone to death because they committed a minor infraction of a useless law. You can punish them, yes, but to ruin a career and setback an entire franchise is just fricking insane.

It's the disproportionate punishments that make us so upset. The Patriots have now been caught cheating, actually detrimental to the game cheating, and they're barley given any punishment.

We lost a bunch of starters, a bunch of coaches, our Head Coach, and our GM for doing nothing close to the shite the Pats have done.

frick Goodell.

The point was a pay for play system existed with the leagues knowledge far before the Saints were made an example of by Goodell. Do you think pay for play had stopped after '96 and started again in '09? The past is always the best example to finding answers for the present or future.

It was unjust punishmentand unprecedented. Roger took the wheels off a Saints machine that was at about it'sprime. That machine was dismantled and this many years later we are still rying to recover. I hope this season is the big turnaround.

In so far as I can tell NO ONE EVER hold the media accountable for their BS. Unless I'm forgetting the punishment for the idiot at ESPN that claimed definitive proof that Micky Loomis was wire tapping that opponents communications. FBI, State Police get involved and turns out to be completely false nothing even remotely going on.

I usually ignore anything that Steven A. Smith has to say but I have to give him credit for at least doing this when they had Drew as a guest before the Super Bowl... LINK
