I like it Rand, so do you think we go for a bit time LB or D lineman in free agency?

A lot of question marks around the defensive talent this year with Jack being undersized, Smith being hurt not and Nkemdiche having bust written all over him, I'll take a sure thing in Treadwell.

Dude is a game changer. Might not have game breaking speed but he could be a Larry Fitzgerald for us.

I do, yes.

We do need a WLB, but I think DL is a much bigger need. The main thing we need is a space eater. Someone who can take on 2 guys in the middle and let Jordan do his thing 1 on 1. Sounds like a guy like Ngata, who is probably the best FA DT this year. I see the team extending Drew, cutting Colston and Hawthorne and restructuring some older guys like Jahri (maybe) or Strief. Free up ~20m, sign Ngata and a few depth guys. Then address WR and DE, our two other biggest needs in the draft.

I think Ellerbe is good enough for WLB, but he just can't stay healthy. The team would probably rather take their chances with that and address other positions rather than sign a WLB and end up with an extra LB but still no push up front.

If Payton remains as head coach, I would not just hand Dennis Allen the DC job permanently. I would make him re-interview for it and interview some other candidates with Jim Schwartz being at the top of the list.

Since this is really just for fun here's what I've got"

DC: Jim Schwartz

DE: Cam Jordan
NT: Jon Jenkins
DT: Andrew Billings (1st rd)
DE: Noah Spence (2nd rd)

SLB: Kikaha
MLB: Anthony
WLB: Nigel Bradham (FA/Buf) played very well under Schwartz, and yes I know we have a bad history with FAs from Buffalo. I'm not superstitious.

CB: Breaux
SS: Vaccaro
FS: Byrd
CB: Lewis
NB: Swann
DB: PJ Williams

Why do you put so much stock into this game? They were historically bad over this season, the FO would be retarded to keep things as is.

I used this exact comparison in the Treadwell thread the other day I think his speed and 40 will disappoint at the combine (4.5 range) but what I like about him most is his physicality in and out of routes. The dude fights for space, and then when the ball is in the air, he goes for it. This is something our current WRs lack for sure.

Remember we have Davis Tull coming off IR at LB. I'm looking forward to see what he can do.

I wanted to put Swann in mine, but I think he's a question mark. If he makes it back, I'm liking what we have at CB.

I like Schwartz and would LOVE that hire, but I just don't see it happening. I think Payton grits it out with his guy.

I (personally) believe the biggest issues on defense are the DL gets no push in the middle, and Browner. I addressed both of those. I'm content with the rest. What do you think I shouldve changed?

Yeah, I'm staying optimistic with Swann, but could definitely see him not coming back.

As for Schwartz, I think it's a pipe dream as well, but he has a tremendous track record with defenses and Allen should not get a total pass for the product he put out there even though it was better than Ryan's.

I'm not saying I know anything, but I have heard Kikaha is a situational pass rusher not a 3 down Linebacker. Haloti Ngata is 32 years old, I would not like the signing unless the price is right. I would rather us grab DT Jarran Reed or DE Shaq Lawson if available in the 2nd and in the 1st round I'd like to see us grab either LB(Jaylon Smith/Reggie Ragland.) Ellerbe was on the sidelines too much this season. Yes, we will have PJ Williams, Davis Tull, and Raphael Bush back from the IR. 3rd round either the TE Hunter Henry or OT/OG Denver Kirkland. I know a lot of people here want Treadwell but remember our D was horrible this season and Drew Brees makes WR's when he has time in the pocket.

I would love for us to draft Deion Jones but to me he tries too hard to blow up a tackler i.e. KV and ends up missing the tackle. Dude is a punisher though

Deion Jones would be a huge get for us. Guy is a beast and his speed and power would help us out alot. I get the trying to hard to blow a tackler though but you have to realize he's only started for one whole year. He will be alot better with more experience.
