Derrick Johnson- of all the guys the Saints have passed on in the draft, DJ might be the one I wanted the most at the time. Jammal Brown was pretty good but injury prone and I thought he came across as a POS in attitude. Johnson has performed solidly for ten years in arguably the Saints most talent deficient position in that time.

Just a little draft past whine

Every year LB in the draft is the Saints sexy position...whereas if your a Browns fan its this years QB.

I remember really wanting DJ and was was happy he fell to us...I was a little disappointed at the time with drafting Brown because of the FO letting great players go and trying to replace established stars in the draft with rookies.

Our 2000 roster was basically destroyed by that draft year. We were drafting a LT when we used to have Roaf and Turley. We traded a fortune for a DT in 2003 when we had Glover. We traded for Tebucky Jones when we had Sammy Knight.

In 2009 I really wanted to go LB 1st as well...but considering how that all played out I will not complain.

I agree. I thought we were taking DJ. I also thought we were taking Denard a couple of years ago when we took Cooks.
