Also, this is 5th round of next year's draft, not this year's.

Reminder of bountygate for breaking no NFL rules w/ their 50,000 pages worth of documentation and little to no evidence:
On March 21, 2012, the NFL issued sanctions to Saints coaches and front-office personnel for their roles in the scandal.[55][56]

Williams was suspended indefinitely, and was banned from applying for reinstatement until the end of the 2012 season at the earliest.
Payton was suspended for the entire 2012 season, effective April 1. He is the first head coach in modern NFL history to be suspended for any reason.
Loomis was suspended for the first eight games of the 2012 season.
Vitt, who had been tabbed as a possible candidate to serve as interim coach in Payton's absence, was suspended for the first six games of the 2012 season.[16][20][57] (This did not automatically disqualify Vitt from serving as interim head coach per se, as his suspension was not effective until the regular season; the suspension terms allowed him to coach the team through training camp and the preseason, then return during Week 7. The Saints announced they would implement this scenario for 2012.)[58][59]

The Saints were also fined $500,000—the maximum fine permitted under the league constitution. Goodell also stripped the Saints of their second-round draft picks in 2012 and 2013 (their first-round pick in 2012 had already been traded to the New England Patriots, and therefore could not be taken away; after the penalty; the Saints' first pick in the 2012 NFL Draft is a third-rounder)[16][20] He also gave the league's clubs until March 30, 2012 to certify in writing that they do not have bounty programs. Clubs will also be required to certify that no bounty systems exist as part of the yearly certifications they must make under the league's Integrity of the Game Policy.[60]

Goodell just wanted to prove the point that he was judge, jury, executioner with the Saints

If you've noticed, ever since Vilma sued him his balls have tucked back a good bit. All it takes is one player to step up and give him an actual threat and he's been on eggshells ever since. The only thing he responds to is litigation and public pressure

I'll be the devil's advocate. In the world where the league had all this evidence against us, piped in crowd noise doesn't equate to what the Saints were accused of.

That being said, this league is a joke as far as enforcing their mulligan policies.

Damn, NFL really came down hard on them. Set an example for the entire league. Guess ignorance wasn't an excuse.

piping in noise is actually cheating the game and the rules and actually affects real life outcomes of games and leads to an advantage.

locker room side bets that dates back 30 years with legal play on the field isn't gaining any advantages nor cheating the spirit of the game.

Don't care. Bounty shite is over.

What is interesting is they are punishing the Browns and Falcons, and so far, nothing on the Pats deflating balls.

I was sitting here trying to figure out what the offense was.

Thankfully someone pointed it out.

It's a bullshite punishment compared to ours, but what punishment issued by the league hasn't been? No sense of getting riled up over it though, as there's nothing we can do about it.

Goodell looked at their home record the last two seasons, 6-10, and decided it wasn't a competitive advantage.
Would've rather it be in 2015.

They pump in artificial crowd noise and still fall below average in the loudest NFL stadiums.

I almost feel bad for them...

RG has a huge ego and has fed that ego with hogging the league spot light. The commish should be seen and not heard much like my 2 year olds. He's ruined the office's image. His predecessors did it right. They governed but kept their asses in the corner and therefore have left a lasting legacy. RG will go down as a steaming pile of excrement in the history books.
