i say sit back and relax. They need a lot of bodies, so if they are of a mind to give up picks, who am I to say no.

It is pretty much accepted that Tampa did throw that game.

I will state again that a team should never play to lose. That's a horrible precedent to be set by the coach. However, that doesn't mean you play your starters in a meaningless game. My issue wasn't with them playing to win; it was with them not benching Brees, Graham, Lofton, Colston, Lewis and Cam. I don't understand why they would risk their veteran players getting hurt (ala Brees in San Diego) over a game that 1. does nothing for you if you win and 2. gives you higher draft value if you lose.

You can still play to win, just doing so with second string players that will also get valuable experience. THAT is what was dumb and arrogant. Thankfully none of them suffered any injuries

All of this. Couldn't have said it better myself.

Don't trade picks away to move up. Especially after the Tampa game.

did it every occur to any of you that are of the latter opinion, that Tampa was throwing that game too? That they just worked a little harder at throwing it.

It was obvious why Tampa with a lead benched Mike Evans in the second half. If the Saints would have only benched a less than 100% Jimmy Graham (who we now can surmise was already a strong consideration in the minds of Loomis/Payton to be trade bait), Tampa almost certainly holds on for the win.

You don't try not to win by intentionally screwing up. You simply play more backups. Take a look at them for the future in the process. With starters in the game for a half, the Saints were already losing. If they had taken a preseason-like approach to the second half using some reserves, Tampa wins with no one complaining about it.

Indy was done and in complete rebuild. Different situations IMO.

I'll go to my grave believing that they deliberately tanked to take Luck with the first pick. Smart move on their part.

Cuz that really worked out last time when the Falcons moved up to get Julio. Granted he's a great player but they suffered depth wise losing all this picks.

Did we really though? Had some pretty damn good years the last 3 of the last 5 years.

I think the Julio trade is overhyped with all of this "supposed depth" we didn't have. We had plenty of depth, just guys kept getting injured especially along the O-line.

I'm sure that the Julio trade caused them all to get injured too though.

1) Who is Russell Lande?
2) Atlanta is going to trade up a spot to take Ray?

Not buying it.
