Wow. I said in the offseason that getting rid of Smith and hiring Dan Quinn was the smartest move and hire the Falcons front office could have made. Falcons fans were ready to crown this guy "Coach of the Year" after the first 6 games, but after losing two in a row to divisional opponents, they are ready to burn the whole thing to the ground.

quote:

Quinn has to own the WASTED Time Outs, turnovers, and failed discipline. This team looks un-coached. Sloppy and horrible. Beginning to think he is over his head.

Lets look at all the threads about Payton after our 0-3 start.

I'm sure they were so much more levelheaded.

Team has turned around from shite show to possible playoff team in less than a year.

A coach can't own turnovers. Those are on the players. However, in terms of penalties, we are a sloppy as shite team the last 4 weeks and that's why we've gone 2-2.
That being said, we were -3 in the Saints game and only lost by 10. Then we were -4 in the TB game this sunday and only lost by 3 in OT. We were originally losing 20-3.

Is it not good coaching to come back from 20-3 and even get a chance to push it to OT.
Short story: He's a good coach with an inferior OLine and needs more depth and Dline. Jesus Christ, we're 6-2 and we had all of 4 wins last season.

No doubt many Saints fans over react, as I'm sure many fan bases do. I used to be that way and can vaguely remember after the second non-playoff season in 2008, I wanted everyone fired lol. I have matured as a fan and become more level headed, but it is definitely funny to see Falcons fans want blood after two losses.

Losing to Tampa will do that to you. See Saints fans after week two.

Atlanta is definitely better, but man -- they have two choices offensively. Freeman on draws and Jones on the intermediate stuff. If they fail to get both involved, they struggle to score.

And the fumbles by Ryan and botched snaps are insane.

I think the juice injected by a new coach can carry a team a long way (like it did us in 2000 and 06'). However, when adversity creeps in, sometimes it becomes harder to maintain.

You can only come from behind so many times.
And its a read and react league. So many teams start off hot then hit the skids because opponents do watch film and try to stop whats been working for you. Those teams that have the ability and personnel to further adjust have a chance to keep on winning.

Question is has Quinn dialed in all his plays or can he dial it on up to 11?

Definitely the smaller majority. To be 6-2 after the shite show that was last year has been nothing short of remarkable.

Now, if we continue these penalties, then I'll start to wonder what the hell we're practicing on a weekly basis but so far. Dan Quinn is awesome!

I've actually been extremely pumped with Jacob Tamme. He's done very well. And we've been without Leonard Hankerson the last 2 weeks.

Why is DD using this thread to come in here and start spilling his thoughts like we give a shite?

It's got Falcons in the title, it's fair game for me. Whether or not you choose to give a shite is on you. I won't lose sleep either way.

Meh. Everyone likes to point fingers when things go out of hand. We are all human. They will get over it. Quinn is a good coach.

Can they bring back Mike Smith? He was always masterful at clock management.
