I remember it well. He was clearly rattled after the play.

Drew Brees is Manning in 2015. Injured and arm shot.

You are giving manning too much credit, he wasnt even good enough to be a starter that year. He just had an all world defense behind him

I think he tore something if it isn't just broken ribs. Soft tissue injury could have been played through

For the last time it wasn't a concussion. They are required to take his helmet.

I think Drew was hurt, but I also think that Drew would have come back in if the game was tied or the Saints were behind.

He never took off the helmet or went to the locker room.

I never said it was a concussion?? He wouldn’t have been able to come back in from the play I was referencing. But, his “limited” nature started after that week.

I’m clearly a dummy and no doctor, but I wonder if we’re looking at damaged cartilage or a core muscle injury, similar to the injured oblique he had a couple years ago. Obviously the ribs could be cracked or broken too.

Seems similar to Myles Brennan's injury. Hope its not as long lasting.

He was already at 60% going into the game and wearing a flak jacket. His body was breaking down and one good hit from it being over

I think the shoulder has been giving him some discomfort for a while but I think it’s ribs that took him out yesterday. Hopefully anyway

I said the same.

Anything other than the shoulder will be a reasonably short (2-4 week) issue.

If it's the shoulder, the nature of the injury will tell the story. Could end his career...could be insignificant but given everything else needs to be rested.

Let's just say the rib injury doesn't help the arm injury and it's most likely the reason the short passing game is in vogue as the downfield passing game is all but non existent with Brees
