My favorite Drew Brees story came during our 2009 run to the Super Bowl in Miami. I was there as we battled the Dolphins in the regular season, and were behind big the entire first half. Brees bitched at Payton during the last timeout as we were about to settle for a FG before the half - there was only time for one more play. He bitched and railed at Payton so passionately that Payton let him go out for the TD instead of the FG attempt. Result:

Sure could have used that guy Week 1 versus Arizona when CSP somehow decided to punt on our last 4th and 5. Or the following week at home when we punted from the 35. Or when Payton wasted a valuable timeout on 3rd and 1 from the goalline to draw up a fricking FB dive.

I loved watching Drew Brees adderall it up on the sidelines yesterday. Dude looked more intense standing there than I've seen him in an actual game since that 49ers personal foul penalty in 2013.

It sure beat the usual "mopey Brees sulking on the bench all by himself staring at his tablet" version that we've been subjected to since early 2014.

Two faces of Brees

He cared as late as December 2013 when were getting skullfricked in Seattle regular season. Here his is exchanging ideas and lessons with his offensive teammates late in the blowout loss to the Seahawks. Leadership skills: 100. Passion: Tom Brady level.

but sadly... here's the Drew Brees' we've grown accustomed to seeing: sulking by himself on the bench staring mindlessly at his tablet. No communication with his offensive line or receivers. No anger when CSP gets a play call in too late and we have to burn a timeout for no reason. No demanding to go for it on 4th and Ballgame with under 2 minute left in Arizona. Just trudge meekly off the field and plan your next shitty tweet about Breeden or Baylen or whatever horrendous names you've given your kids - I cant' keep them straight as each Yuppie name is worse than the last. Leadership skills: 0 Passion: Aaron Brooks level.

The New England Patriots quarterback recently has been caught by TV cameras swearing up a storm on the sidelines. Most notably, Brady’s tantrum in a recent game against the Green Bay Packers drew complaints after the quarterback repeatedly launched F-bombs for all viewers to see. Brady was asked about his in-game swearing, and he explained that NFL players aren’t “choirboys,” adding viewers should “blame CBS and NBC for putting it on TV.”

Brady cares so much - losing kills him. Brees can't even be arsed to sit by his teammates. One of the pictures I showed was during the 2nd half of the Tampa Bay game - we were NEVER out of the Tampa Bay game - the clock ended with our offense on the field and a chance TO TIE THE GAME.

Why would Brees be sitting like this... at ANY point of the Tampa Bay game? What kind of body language and leadership is that from your leader?

Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers would NEVER be sulking like this in a game that was still winnable.

He looked like an OCD Rainman on the sidelines yesterday. It was weird.

He did it for attention, that stuff was unnecessary. He knew the camera would pick it up!

What was the point of doing it, when in the last few games that passion is not shown and he sits in isolation on the bench?

Yea, these couple picture are all Drew has been doing this season. He hasn't talked to anyone all year.

the other day I read your comment about Brees pouting on the sidelines and fidgeting around on his tablet...

"I hate him lately" is what you said.

I probably shouldn't have... but I laughed.

You said one of these pictures were from the Tampa Bay Game 2 weeks ago?

The Saints wore White Jersey's Black Pants that game. Might want to get your facts straight

I was at the game and saw him very fired up at times on the sideline. Talking to his lineman, receivers, etc

A picture means almost nothing without context
