Drew Brees a system Qb?

I was in a heated discussion with a co-worker who is upset because Brees hasn't signed. One comment he made was, Brees is a system Qb and Benson should sit him for the year and let Chase D. start. 
Claiming Chase wouldn't be as big of a fall off from Brees.
Who actually believes that Drew is a system Qb crap?

Doesn't every offense work in a "system"?
I don't believe that a "system" can make a or break a QB. I honestly believe its the performance of the QB, others players and play calling together.
Drew Brees is a good QB. He would do well on other teams. He already proved it.

EVERYBODY is a system QB because EVERY QB plays in a system. even Peyton Manning in Indianapolis was in a system (it was the "I do what I want when I want if the OC's play call sucks" system...but still a system).
Who cares? Payton is an offensive genius. His system is GREAT. You think the Saints are offering the man close to $100 million for something anyone who can play QB in the NFL can do? We could get Jim Everett out of retirement using that reasoning.
