Drafttek Latest Mock

For me, I've decided that Jonathan Allen would likely be a clearcut enough BPA to select at 11. Asterisk of course for medical clearance. Not the perfect defensive need fit but you take superior talent and make a place for it. Then he double dips at 32. I'm ready for pass rushers until we have to peddle some away out of abundance. Then White and Samuel, I'd be pretty stoked with THIS MOCK.
New Orleans
Jonathan Allen
Alabama
DL3T
Reach/Value: -12 Height:
6'2"
Weight:
286 Alternate Pick #1
Jabrill Peppers
Alternate Pick #2
Dalvin Cook
The Saints lose the player that has been their normal pick for many weeks now (Derek Barnett) to the rival Panthers, but gain the best interior defensive lineman in the draft in Jonathan Allen. New Orleans could still surprise and go Tim Williams here (or CB Marlon Humphrey), but Allen provides disruption up front for opposing QBs, and could help clear a bigger path for Cam Jordan. The three-year Crimson Tide starter ended his career with 23 sacks for Alabama, to go with 26 TFL. Allen was also the recipient of the Lombardi, Bronco Nagurski, and SEC Defensive Player of the Year hardware. Allen could be utilized at varying spots along the front line, depending on the creativity of Defensive Coordinator Dennis Allen and new Defensive Line coach Ryan Nielsen.
Charles Harris
Missouri
EDGE
Reach/Value: +0 Height:
6'3"
Weight:
255 Alternate Pick #1
Taco Charlton
Alternate Pick #2
Carl Lawson
New Orleans adds the EDGErushing phenom out of Missouri, Charles Harris, with the final pick of RD1. The Saints' defense has laid dormant for years, but with the selection of Jonathan Allen earlier, and now Harris, the front seven becomes a bigger threat to wreak havoc on opposing QB's. "Who Dat" Nation would be salivating at the prospect of Cam Jordan on one side, with Charles Harris coming for the QB on the other.
Harris's impressive spin move reminds me of the days of Dwight Freeney in Indianapolis, and that spin helped Harris rack up 12 TFL and 9 QB sacks in 2016...Not a huge statistical difference from his 2015 achievements (18.5 TFL, seven sacks, 2 forced fumbles), even though he carried a bigger load this past season. The biggest concern for Harris will be defending the run at the NFL level, so there is work for him to complete in that department.
Tre'Davious White
LSU
CB
Reach/Value: -8 Height:
5'11"
Weight:
191 Alternate Pick #1
Marcus Williams
Alternate Pick #2
Raekwon McMillan
With two talented defensive linemen selected in RD1, the Saints stay on the defensive side of the ball yet again with an addition to the secondary. LSU's Tre'Davious Whitecompletes what could be the biggest trifecta of defensive talent that New Orleans has ever added in the first two rounds of a draft.
New Orleans could utilize White in press coverage against slot receivers, but his versatility provides the Saints with options. White is fluid with solid instincts. He also saw double-duty as a punt returner on the LSU special teams. Defensive Coordinator Dennis Allen and Saints' Secondary Coach Aaron Glenn are former teammates, so perhaps the two can convince Sean Payton and Mickey Loomis that an "all-defense" draft is the quickest route back to a Super Bowl for the Saints.
Curtis Samuel
Ohio State
WRF
Reach/Value: +25 Height:
5'1"
Weight:
200 Alternate Pick #1
Desmond King
Alternate Pick #2
Davon Godchaux
Eddie Jackson
Alabama

Ethan Pocic

J.J. Dielman
Josh Carraway

Allen is damaged goods...

I am assuming that's a typo and Curtis Samuel isn't 5'1".
Pretty solid draft otherwise.
