I was just thinking there's a certain charm to being terrible. Fandom at that point becomes stress free and comical because all your hopes have long been dashed. Are we approaching that threshold? Are we there yet?

Patty, we are there. The sooner you accept these are the saints of the last few Haslett years (excluding 2005) the better off you'll be

It's so weird. The screen is fuzzy right where your comments are and I can't make it out.

I was there after we lost to the Bucs in week 2. Then they gave me a glimmer of hope but that went out the window after the Titans game. Two Ls from the worst two teams from last year. No Bueno.

No we are not there. I lived it and this feels nothing like those days. I think we tried by slight of hand to extend our chances with CSP and Drew. It failed as we all know. Now similar to LSU its "now what and for how long"?

I found knowing that we were going to lose to Houston before kickoff made watching the game very calming.

The loss didn't bother me much... It is what it is at this point. I love seeing us play well and I still think we are a good team.

What wasn't fun is Brees, Cooks and Watson almost killing me in fantasy haha. Luckily I had Carolina, Peterson and Ware to save me and I made playoffs.

I think the Saints finish 7-9 and look better than they have the last 3 weeks, which I know isn't hard haha.

I thought it was pretty fun when we went 0-4 in the preseason and 1-4 to start the season. Expectations were very low at that point. Then we won 3 straight and most on this board starting predicting 10-6 or 11-5 because our schedule looked easy to close out the year lol. We've been a bad team for 2 years now. We have a tremendous lack of talent and coaching. It will become fun again once we hit the reset button on the Coaches and GM. Also, Jeff Ireland is not the damn answer. They could not wait to run him out of Miami. So we need a new scouting department as well. Until then it's going to be a shitestorm to watch.

Honestly I'm torn and it's a good question FWIW...

I get kind of angry sometimes when I think about how bad we are now, but then I just think about how spoiled I have been.. For the longest time, both LSU and the saints were irrelevant on a national scale and within a few years time, both became elite football programs and were constantly performing well on the big stage... I got used to it, and started to expect it rather than just enjoy it..

On the flip side, it's depressing to think about the fact that we are seeing the end of two great eras and also the eventual loss of two superstars (brees and miles).... It's just a lot of shite happening at once if you're like me and an LSU and saints fan

At this point, I can just sit back and enjoy the game without too many expectations, and that's ok (for a few years at least )

ETA: felt good to vent... Been keeping all that inside me

Y'all should try it lol

His first draft was pretty damned good... and he was smart enough to bring Ellerbe with him, who looks like a stud (although injury-prone)... how 'bout we give him a chance?

I'm going to the game this week.

have not been to one this year and I always try and go to one each year.

just happened to pick this one a few months ago but didn't anticipate the Panthers to be undefeated.

my record going to games has been pretty good since 2000.

only time I saw us drop a few games since then was 2006 oddly enough... the Bengals and the Redskins.

1999 was rough though... saw the Browns and Titans games.

posted that for the superstition truthers out there I guess.

LSU and Saints football has been very tough for me since that 6 day span in early January 2012. Those two losses, on their respective stages, in such a short time span took so much out of me.
