Is this a worthwhile gamble? Peterson/Rice have off field issues but on the field are light years better than Ingram. Is it worth taking a chance for one of these guys who would be looking to make a statement and prove they deserve a 2nd chance?

How can you cut a player not under contract?

How can you sign a player that is not a FA?

Solid fricking post Merlin

It isn't about signing someone better than him IMO.

We have promising young back in Robinson who is under contract for ~$750k.

I'd rather have cheap running backs and spend the $3-5 million on the LOS.

You better be using your magic to make some money appear for that shite to happen. Excalibur has a price tag you know, and it ain't cheap.

Geez, Merlin, it must suck to know you cant come on this board and make a hypothetical statement without being put through the ringer by former NFL GM's who wouldn't take Peterson or Rice over Ingram.

If it were me, I wouldnt hesitate one bit to sign either one of those guys if the money and the opportunity were available to me.

Who said they wouldn't take Peterson > Ingram?

Ray Rice appears washed up though. He averaged 3.1 yards/carry in 2013 and now has this shitstorm around him.

Well, that is the point. The money isn't available and that means for ingram too. Petterson isn't a free agent and would be too expensive.

Light years better?

Peterson is not leaving Minn.

For anyone that actually watches the plays instead of listening for big ames would know Rice has been on the decline the past 2 years he played.

Ingram has been improving the past 2 years.

Peterson is old and will cost more than Ingram. Ray Rice is a lateral move, and obvious off the field issues.

Even if you could cut Ingram (which you can't), why would you for either after how Ingram played last season? Take the purple and gold glasses off, he is a nfl player now, not an alabama player.

Well if you actually watched, Ray Rice ran like his old self last pre season and he was actually injured the 1 bad year he had. You keep watching thougH.

Ray Rice is a good buy low especially with his ability to catch the ball and make moves in the open field

No, I think a good NFL GM would first fix their atrocious offensive line so that Peterson/Rice(lol)/Ingram have a hole to run through.
