Still very baffling. Did he explain it in his press conference?

Yeah I don't get that.

You take a first down over 2 yards every day of the week.

Looked like he was upset at the ref after that for some reason. No clue why that would be, unless they told him it would be second and 1 or something.

He was setting up a 3rd down double reverse up the middle with Josh Hill.

From the way he was pissed off, sounds like the ref might have not explained the situation correctly.
I mean it did set up a 2nd and 3 which is a very nice situation to be in...but I don't think it's nice enough to turn down an automatic first down.

What's weird is there isn't much to explain. You take the play or the penalty. Defensive holding = 5 yards and auto first down. Pretty easy call.

There have been numerous instances in the past where coaches have changed their minds about penalties after the referee announced them. Sean could have done that here but he didn't. I don't think he was upset at the ref about the penalty I think he was upset about the lack of a holding call against Graham on that 3rd down

Wouldn't you take 2 tries to get 3 yards over 3 tries to get 10 yards every day of the week?

If you had the choice, every time you got a "1st down", would you prefer it to be 1st and 10 or 2nd and 3? I'll take the 2nd and 3.
