Thought Michael Clayton was the real tallent on that LSU receiver corp, but Devery was every bit as good. How do you compare them?

Looking at the stats it's clear Devery was the better player. Plus he still has a career(for now).
Clayton had one huge year his first year while Devery only played one game his first year(both 2004).
Since that year Clayton never reached 40 catches and last had more than 20 catches in 2008.
Henderson hit his peak with us the superbowl year with over 50 catches and still pulled in more than 30 the next 2 years(22 last year).
Devery has twice as many tds(20) and a higher ypc average(17.9 vs. 13.3). He also averaged a couple of more ypg.
Remember these comparisons are (mostly) with Brees at our helm distributing the ball all over while TB was mostly devoid of WR talent throughout Clayton's stay there.
With 67 20+ yarders and 27 40+ yarders, Devery was a master of the deep ball and also started to develop into a semi reliable underneath man and blocker his last few years, along with getting rid of his early case of the drops.
While not ever the main focus of our offense, for a good bit he was a key cog in our offensive machine. You could see the decline last year but I wish him well if he wants to keep playing.

If Devery never does anything else:
He caught the winning TD in the Bluegrass Miracle (caught 5 passes for 201 yards that day and 3TDs)
Won a NC at LSU
Won a SB with the Saints.
Caught the TD pass from Brees that broke Unitas' record.
Not a bad resume' in the least. Thanks for everything and best of luck in the future, Devery.
