I seriously doubt Kizer will be there for our 1st pick let alone our 2nd. If this team hadn't been so bad at drafting we wouldn't have so many holes and would able to take luxury picks like the Patriots. Even if we could afford the to not fill other holes, I wouldn't trust this front office to make the correct pick. Ex: Garrett Grayson

Vince Young looked really good against a USC Defense that have many future NFL players on their defense. Young showed what he can do against NFL players.

Remember that. Very dangerous to judge a player on one game.

right, plus Vince Young carved up USC by running the ball. He didn't even have a TD pass in that game(doesn't matter cause of the outcome) though.

but Watson had two very good games against what a lot of people thought was a shutdown/elite defense that couldn't be broken. The numbers...

Game 1 (a Clemson loss):

30-47 405 yards 4 TD's 1 int.
20 carries 73 yards

Game 2 (the win):

36-56 420 yards 3 TD's 0 int.
21 carries 43 yards 1 TD

he proved he could shoulder the load by throwing the football against a talented/well coached defense.

I wouldn't be disappointed if we picked him in Round 1 cause at some point you have to start thinking and preparing ahead.

I admit I'm not crazy about a lot of the college QB prospects these days but you have to take your chances. I don't think anybody could have ever imagined Brees would become the player that he has when the Saints took a chance on him coming off a serious injury.

so I mean whether its Keizer, Watson, Peterman, or who ever it will be bring it on. I honestly don't care who we pick this year as far as position in Round 1 (as of right now) anyway.

after free agency starts.. different story.

should have a way better idea or guess by then???

2005 USC defense was in no way comparable to 2015 or 2016 Alabama defenses

If we can get a good defensive lineman or corner in round 2, take him over all the QBs. If there's a QB in the 3rd at a great value, then we take a look IMO.

Agreed. Even a 3rd rounder is debateable imo. If CSP/Ireland really like a guy that falls to the 2nd or 3rd...I guess I wouldn't complain, but they better be damn sure. Drafting a bust at QB in the 2nd or 3rd round is about the worst thing to do to our roster.

Load up on defense & O-Line...hopefully they hit on most of them. We're most likely screwed if Brees leaves and we don't massively improve our defense & soldify the right side of the O-Line. Unger isn't very young either.

if Keizer is there for round 2 I think he's too hard to pass up, I'm almost tempted to take him with our 1st if Solomon Thomas is off the board

I'd rather take a chance on Chad Kelly in round 6 or 7 than draft Kizer in round 1 or 2.

There's only three QBs worth taking in this draft; Watson, Trubisky, and Kayya. I think Watson should start from the get-go but Trubisky and Kayya need to sit behind a veteran for a season or two. The Cards, Saints, G-men, Chiefs, and the Vikings are just a few teams that would work out perfectly for Trubisky and Kayya. I'm all for drafting a QB but not before round 4.

No. We need too much on defense. I think he will be a stud, but not worth us taking in the second. If we were in a position like the Pats or Packers when they took their backups sure, but not with as many glaring holes as we have.

If those two fell to the 4th, somebody would move up to take them. But I agree, if those two are there in the 4th, pick them. I wouldn't go crazy if they had a third round grade and we got them there, but I wouldn't be too happy depending on who else is available.

Again, looking at this stuff before the combine and FA is always tricky.
