Assuming we go 4-3. That run defense is nasty

Akiem Hicks
John Jenkins
Kevin Williams
Cameron Jordan

Glenn Foster - He better watch out. He might get passed up by the young guys.
Bobby Richardson - Great camp so far. Maybe a UDFA gem
Tyeler Davison - Very Good camp so far. Very disruptive.
Lawrence Virgil - Good camp so far.
Tavaris Barnes - Good camp so far.
Kaleb Eulls - Made some plays.
Ashaad Mabry - Poor guy doesn't have a chance.

We're actually pretty thin on the d-line...

As of now, but if these young guys keep on playing like this...it could become a strength of ours. Richardson & Davison are tearing it up so far. Barnes & Virgil are also holding their own.

Tyeler Davison <--- need him to contribute. Why was he a 5th rounder? Disappears? Is he raw?

Not sure but people can't seem to stop raving about him. Let's hope we got ourselves a steal because we need some much needed attitude on the DL.

Edebali is basically an end. Same kind of player as Galette so if we go 4-3 he's an end and if we go 3-4 he's a Jack (rush LB).

Also Haralson has been working as an end.

So we have a lot of guys that are competing. It'll be interesting to see who steps up.

Not really sure, but he could have gone 4th round. I do know that Fresno State's D-Line was horrible and that he was the lone bright spot on it. Maybe he commanded a lot of double teams or something. Everybody at the practices talks very highly of him so far.

This makes me worry about the oline...

Good call on Edebali. Forgot about him. He could wind up with the most sacks for us this year. I think he & Cam Jordan are the 2 favorites at this point.

Here we go again.

It's the same thing as Will Smith or Junior Galette playing "linebacker". It's the Jack spot which is a rush end. Rarely are they called on for coverage (Galette had maybe 5% of his snaps in coverage).

They really shouldn't call that spot OLB. It confuses everyone.

Those guys didn't do much last year. I want to see Jenkins stay healthy for a majority of the season.

You mean unproven?

DLine has been one of the more consistent groups so far with a lot of hungry young guys that have talent as well.

Most of them are young and don't have much exp, there's depth there though.

I remember Smith dropping back a good bit and getting burned in the preseason before his injury.

They did the same with Junior dropping him back more but it was more to try to get them acclimated to doing than it being part of the game plan.

And Smith only dropped back twice in that preseason game. The problem was both times he was burned badly. It wasn't like he dropped back twenty times. It was just how bad he got burned those couple of times that makes it stand out.

If we run 4-3 Haralson will play DE, he's useless and clunky in coverage.

Our 3 Lbs would likely be Anthony, Ellerbe and Hawthorne with Kikaha thrown in on 3rd downs. I like it so far except for Hawthorne, but hopefully Kikaha develops his coverage to overtake him at OLB. I mean, he doesn't have to improve much to beat out Hawthorne.
