Yeah but when he's in they're not really looking for him either. That's how he has played since he has been here. He's rarely targeted and just feels like a forgotten presence in the games because Qbs would rather focus on guys like Browner who look like they shouldn't be in the league right now.

I agree, but when he has only played in 4 games (while being limited in 2 of those), I don't think he should be in the DMVP talks this year. Not a knock on him at all, just speaks volumes to how well some of the other guys have stepped up.

There were times in the game I felt we would have been better off just playing w/ 10 guys. Browner giving up 1st downs is obnoxious, and the worst part is it's the same calls every time. He needs to find another way to stay w/ the guy then to grab the jersey. The refs watch game film too.

And even with that play, he's our best DB by a mile

I forgot how bad he looked in that game.

Cardinals he had like 4 defensive hold calls too that would rival Browner.

Anyone laugh at Ryan's scheme at putting Byrd in the middle of the field trying his best impression of Earl Thomas?

Don't get me wrong. We are lucky to have someone like Breaux who has more than proven he can play in this league, and due to Lewis being injured and Browner being garbage, he is tasked with covering the opponent's best receiver. But the MVP of the defense before Breaux would be:

1. Cam Jordan
2. Stephone Anthony
3 Kikaha

He almost made a damn fine interception flying over from the middle, I think toward the end of the game

Breaux did, or are you talking about when Byrd tried to leap over another player and grab ball in air?

Breaux has been a good player this year, he will get better with experience. He does struggle, especially in dome at tracking the ball in the air on deep passes. That should improve with experience and coaching.

As for Byrd, I like what I've seen from him. Even the TD play where Breaux got beat, Byrd came out of his assignment in another zone and still had the ability to come close to making a play on the ball. Teams are really staying away from Byrd. There is always a few plays a game where he comes from way out where the QB is going with the ball and gets over to make a play or come close with quickness. I got a good laugh out of people dogging Byrd on that TD against Breaux, many safeties wouldn't even have been in the picture on that play, and his hand was inches from knocking the ball away, well maybe a foot or so away

Did you even watch the fricking game?

Those pick plays that the Giants scored at least twice on breaux are complete BS and impossible to cover

Damn sure gave a lot of teams, us included, something to work on

I have a feeling giants are going to try that play one too many times this year.

Especially in man coverage. Zone would work well in that type of play but zone can limit your run D since LB's are forced to worry about coverage instead of stopping the run. Basically you would have to jam the WR in man coverage and hope inside DB got a good jam also. But then you get hit with a fade and your screwed As you said, tough play to defend. The play like that in SB last year was as good of a play a CB can make.

Technically, rub plays.

But still, they're impossible to defend almost.

He’s allowed 288 yards and 5 TD in the last 2 games. kinda flukey but still should be noted

This is also in a league in which it is almost impossible to play defense.

One of the most impressive plays Breaux made yesterday was when the Giants were driving and the Saints were in the prevent-you-from-winning defense where they give up first downs on every play and allow the Giants to easily march down the field. Manning threw a little pass to Beckham and Breaux didn't get juked...he stiff-arm fought Beckham to the sidelines and didn't give up a first down.

It was such a departure from what I'm used to...Patrick Robinson falling down or getting his ankles broken. But Breaux just has insane athletic ability and body control.
