Delvin Breaux is the defensive MVP of this team so far.

Watching every game I still can't believe the progress he continues to make every single week. This guy wasn't even a lock to make the team and he's now shadowing opposing #1 WR's on a weekly basis. Without him we would be getting destroyed through the air (I know funny to say after this week) without his help and Lewis injury. Man I just really hope we lock this guy up before he hits the open market because he is a true #1 lockdown guy halfway through his first NFL season. The scary thing he is he still has tons of room to guy and will only get better,

He's on a 3 year contract

He had a rough day yesterday, but he is and will be a great player

I would argue D-MVP for Cam. He has been a monster.

Breaux is definitely up there in the top 3 though. I really like what Cam, Kikaha, and Breaux have done all season.

We have him cheap for 2 more years after this. I'm not sure how it works since he was undrafted, but would we also have a restricted free agency year with him after that?

THIS!!!!! I love Breaux and what he has brought to this team, but Cam should be a finalist for NFL DPOY. He's dominating.

Breaux did have a bad game yesterday, and I am ok with this. I'm still shocked that it took this long for it to finally happen. He's essentially a rookie, and it's crazy that a rookie has played to his level all season long.

At least his bad game came against the best receiver in the league and not some scrub from the Titans or something.

He’s allowed 288 yards and 5 TD in the last 2 games. kinda flukey but still should be noted

Yea I would have to go Cam first. Then Delvin, Kikaha and Anthony.

And a tip of the hat to Mauti. Saw him getting a lot of reps yesterday.

I certainly wouldn't disagree with Cam either. I think they've both been pivotal.

He had a few really good games before, but he has been Jason David bad the last two weeks. Probably going to get downvotes for it, but it's true. Any player besides Breaux falls down on 2 long TD passes and then gives up 3 TDs the next week would be getting crucified here.

Any talk of anyone besides Cam as the DMVP is a joke.

If he hadn't basically pitched a shutout besides those completely fluke plays, I think he would get more. You have to remember this guy was playing in Canada last year.

Lewis is still the defensive MVP and best player on defense. He's rarely ever targeted when he's in the game. He's also playing hurt and still WRs can't get open on him. Delvin is going to be a good one but he's not close to being a MVP. He has looked bad the past 2 weeks and I know he fell down twice for easy TDs last week but that's on him and his aggressive play. You have to know when to let up when you're on an island by yourself.

My vote is Cam or Lewis.

This. His performance against Julio is saving him for me right now, but the last two weeks have been rough. I'm avoiding going one way or the other with it, but right now the jury is still out. I'm hoping the last couple weeks were just "rookie" inconsistency, and he'll settle in soon. I think he has the potential to be a great player.

Falling down twice is flukey. What did he give up the rest of that game? That's the key.

Yesterday's game was his first truly bad game. It's fine; rookies will have bad games.

The rest of the game? Those two TDs nearly cost us the game

Cam has been dominant at times but other times he hasn't. He's not consistent. Sometimes he just looks okay but when you think about he doesn't have much help on the line then you realize he's playing really well. Thinking about it again I'd probably hand it to Cam but I still think Lewis is the unsung hero on this defense. It never seems like he's out there making huge plays but QBs just forget he's even there...been like that since he has been here. As a CB, if your name is never called you're probably doing a great job shutting your guy down. Lewis even hurt is a great CB. If he didn't play on this defense he'd probably be in Pro Bowls where he deserves to be. Once Delvin develops more they'll probably start trying to target Lewis because they have nowhere else to go and maybe then he'll have more opportunities to show why he's an excellent near shutdown CB, IMO.

Anyone remember McKenzie? That was another underrated CB but because the CBs around him were so horrible teams just ignored him. Kinda feels the same way with Lewis but it seems like even when he's target -- especially over the top -- he's in position almost always. Don't forget Eli threw that deep ball late in the game and Lewis was on tight with the WR and got his hands in there. That could've won them the game right there with that catch...

Because he hasn't been there. He has missed some time the past few weeks (may have played majority of the game this week) and forced us to put Browner on the outside. If Lewis stays healthy the rest of the season and continues to dominate, I'd agree with you. But, because of missed time it's way too small of a sample size to say he should be consider in the team's DMVP discussion.

First one looked like he was pushed off. Second one Delvin got way too aggressive and that was on him. It wasn't flukey the second time...he just had really bad technique and couldn't get his head around. He got torched yesterday.

Yeah but when he's in they're not really looking for him either. That's how he has played since he has been here. He's rarely targeted and just feels like a forgotten presence in the games because Qbs would rather focus on guys like Browner who look like they shouldn't be in the league right now.
