Better late than never? I think the O-line has a lot to do with Bush and Thomas' lack of success running the ball up the middle.

I don't know if Thomas can be a featured back. He only had 129 carries, I would like to see what he does with 250-300 carries. A RBBC of Thomas, Bush, and Hamilton/Bell would probably be enough to get a good enough ground game to to take some pressure off of Drew Brees and the passing game though

I don't want Thomas to carry the ball 250-300 times. That's just retarded, especially in today's game.

The Saints have had about 400 carries per year as a team over the last two seasons. In 2006, they carried the ball 472 times. Teams will give them fewer possessions per game, so that number is going to be closer to 400 than 500 this year, so 07 and 08 would be better indicators.

So let's say that the Saints run a little more this year than last year, for various reasons including having leads late in games. Let's say that they run it 450 times. I would like to see that breakdown like this:

Pierre: 200-225 carries (12 to 14 cpg)
Reggie: 175-200 carries (11 to 12 cpg)
Bell: 25-40 carries (2 to 3 cpg)
Evans: 15-20 carries (1 to 2 cpg)

That will keep both of our backs fresh, and they should both be effective with those sorts of numbers.

Offensively, our team is setup to win the Super Bowl.
Unfortunately for us, you also need a defense to actually win ballgames.
