re: Datty Awards?

Still can't believe Pat quit this place because it was affecting his personal life. What a fricking square.

I can see that happening to people to be honest. Some can't control that, although I think he's capable of doing so. It's about moderation.

I don't know if you're kidding, Melvin.

But he has some young kids he needs to look after.
I definitely understand why he stopped posting.

When it comes to addiction (if we're going down that path), one can either slow down or stop completely.

Not everyone can do both.




But I would like it if he posted occasionally.

The biggest problem with the Datty awards, as identified last year, was we had way too many and it became watered down and not interesting.

I'd propose to get rid of several of the categories and go with maybe the following:

Best Poster
Worst Poster
Best Thread
Worst Thread
Rookie of the Year
2-3 novelty awards

I kinda agree with this despite the source.

I actually thought this a few times when I'd lurk at work on my phone during the day while he was in his prime on here. I know how much energy my one child would take when I'm at home with him. No idea how you could manage multiple kids and that many posts.

Let me put this in a way you'll understand:

I agree with you. And there should be less categories. That's really the best way to do to. I mean there might not be, and if there are I'll be happy but if there aren't I'll say there should have been. I'll watch either way.

I'm not being negative I'm just being realistic that there should be less categories. But we'll just wait and see.
