I like Ingram but might as well. We so under utilize the run game anyways, it's not like we'll really notice the difference. And if we're lucky, we'll get a shadow of the old Peterson.

Don't interpret this as if it has any traction...its just an opinion piece.

I would hope Saints don't do like this board and turn into a bunch of delicate teardrops and panic. We don't even know his exact injury. Can he not even walk for next 6 months or will it be 6 months until he'd be in football shape? We have guys that can handle C until he is back, depending on how recovery is. You don't panic over a freaking C in May.

I guess it depends if they want to pay Ingram 6.25mil next year. Personally I'd keep Ingram. LaGarrette Blount is still an option in free agency as well.

Ingram
2017 cap hit - 5.35mil
2018 cap hit - 6.25mil

Kelce(29 years old)
2017 cap hit - 6.2mil(the article said it would be 5mil for us)
2018 cap hit - 7.2mil
2019 cap hit - 6.5mil
2020 cap hit - 7.0mil

Unger(31 years old)
2017 cap hit - 7.4mil
2018 cap hit - 8.0mil
2019 cap hit - 8.7mil

Just fishing. The smart thing would be to sign Mangold, but would he come knowing that he could be gone in 6-8 weeks?

I would take a good hard look at Mangold before touching that deal first.

Given his age and injury history this seems the only role left for him. Getting Mangold is our best option. BTW, has it been mentioned yet what is Unger's foot injury?

We are still waiting for the NOLA beat writters to actually do their job and find out for themselves what is going on

Keep Unger, he just signed a new contract. Allen or sign FA for starting job.

fricking stupid. So you trade for a C on a 4 year deal because ours who is on a 3 year deal may miss 4-6 weeks?

I don't think we should get Mangold either, but IF we were to do something it sure in the frick would be that route over trading for someone with a large long term deal. Again, that's fricking stupid.

Agree. But it would be a killer deal if we had no starting center.

Agreed. I'd rather Mangold on a cheap 1 year deal, or just take our chances with Allen & Kelemete.

Seriously doubt we get rid of Ingram considering that Kamara is a rookie, & AP is 33/coming off an injury. Too many question marks without Ingram at the RB position.

Kelemete or Allen will start. We aren't going to bring someone in unless this is way more serious than being reported.

We have an early bye so he'll miss 4-5 games at most if the reports are true.

Edit:
Slight correction. He'll miss the first 5 games as he'll go on the PUP list and miss the first 6 weeks (one week being the bye).

trade AP for him, don't see why it needs to be ingram other then the ST hate for him.

the eagles sound like they are borderline maybe even ready toi release the guy anyway so I don't think it takes much in trade to get him

Not going to happen. AP has too much value at 3.25mil & no guaranteed money in 2018.

This will be our C. They love Allen and he has a lot of upside. The downside is he has no experience.
