Grasping at straws here. I'm frustrated that Payton and Allen are puting guys like Crwley in those situations in the fist place.

50-50 hindsight, but shite, if you like Crawley that much, put him on the practice squad. I mean, the season is over now. At least Dixon has more than one game of NFL experience. He would have known to knock that ball down. Or would he have been burned there?

Leaving two undrafted rookie free agents as your #3 and #4 CBs the first two weeks of the season and just praying to god Breaux and Williams don't get hurt fricked us over. Especially when one starter spent last season on IR and it is flat-out miraculous that the other guy is standing upright with his injury history.

You aren't being fair to the team. You just aren't.

They came out of the draft+FA with these CBs:

Breaux
Lewis
Williams
Swann
Wilson
Harris
Crawley
Dixon
Obviously a few other bottom dwellers who aren't here anymore

Notice anything? The first 5, our top 5 corners on the depth chart, are injured or gone because of injury. There is not a single team in this entire league that would be trotting out great players with their top 5 corners going down.

All things considered, it is AMAZING that Crawley and Harris aren't total dumpster fires. We KNOW it can be worse, we have seen it in years past. They are WAY better than Corey White was here. Way better than Browner was here. Way better than Robinson was here (post-injury).

You are not being fair at all with this. It is fricking ridiculous to be mad at the team for not having starter quality 6th and 7th corners. Yes, it sucks that this has happened but come on.

fricking thank you. Someone with some sense. Those corners played great today. They were in position most of the day and the defense as a whole played well. You want to be mad fine. You are mad at the wrong side of the ball.

I'd rather our DBs be in position to make plays rather than the last few years where we didn't have anyone within 5 yards of a receiver. Hats off to Allen for at least putting them in the position to make a play.

You make a good point. Like I said, I'm grasping at straws here.

That being said:

Lewis wasn't healthy last year
Swann is a walking concussion
Williams was coming off IR
Wilson was maxed out, and he was barely a nickel back

Courtland Finnegan had a good preseason and Payton let him walk.
Sterling Moore was inactive last week.

I'm not worried about Crawley as he gets his reps. Improved a lot from last week. Caused a fumble and broke up a pass on 2nd to last possession of the game. Was in position on last one. Crawley is known to be an athletic guy with size, he lacks some physicality. He can get coached up. I will say, he shouldn't be in the position he is in. It's crazy how many of our CBs have been hurt so far.
