Probably why Cooks doesn't have impressive numbers.

From Dallas Morning News

He will always be defenses number one priority to stop.
Hopefully as Spiller,Hill and Snead step up, Cooks sees more touches.

I hope there's a reason why he's so quiet.

Claiborne is the Cowboys version of Patrick Robinson. If he was covering Cooks all game, I would have expected 12 catches for 150 yards.

I love cooks but this is bad logic. Julio Jones should never have good games then

Everyone on this board already knows my feelings regarding the Cooks pick, but regardless of double teams and being shadowed, the man still has to produce.

There are about 15 guys in the League that constantly garner double teams yet still give you significant production. Then again, most of them are not undersized...

But I do agree that it is up to Hill, Spiller, and Snead, to take some pressure off of him and force the opposing secondary to respect all of our pass catchers.

Cooks is can fill the devery/meachem role nicely. He's not a #1. We need to target a WR next year, and a TE.

Finally, it doesn't help when drew's shoulder is hurting as well.

Cooks is averaging 54 ypg and has 3 receiving TDs in his career. The problem ain't Morris Claiborne(who this board has said sucks many times).
I'm still waiting for one regular season game to show me he's not just a decent #2 WR.

We're barely throwing passes down the middle or vertically down the field. The Oline certainly hasn't helped either with Drew running for his life.

Claiborne has been anything but impressive. The fact that Cooks couldn't get separation from him is disturbing. I know he's had an ankle problem, and maybe that's what's going one. But, I don't think you can point to Morris Claiborne shadowing him and come to the conclusion that it's not a problem that he got shut down.

Brees didn't have much time period, so this statement that he couldn't get separation because of lack of targets is conjecture unless you actually watch the coaches film of every snap.

Didn't click the link, but did it explain why Cooks got arm-tackled despite having 6 blockers in front of him (with only 3 defenders in the picture)?

54 ypg average is pretty damn good actually. Not sure if you're trying to downplay that or not. Notable players with similar ypg averages: Andre Rison, Joe Horn, Pierre Garçon, Jason Witten, Santana Moss, Amani Toomer etc. all good/great players in their own right

Witten is a TE, a very good one but we've settled our TE vs WR numbers debate as a franchise.
Rison played in a different era and was no longer a #1 for the last 4-5 years of his career.
Horn was a backup WR for half his career.
Garcon was a #2 every year of his career except one.
Toomer was a backup the first 3 years of his career and was the #3 option behind Plaxico and Shockey for his last 4-5 years.
Moss refused to retire and it dragged that number down

54 ypg is about 8th in Cooks' draft class. 54 ypg puts you in 48th place in the NFL this season and 4 ypg ahead of Mark Ingram.

I watched the game in person. I have a pretty firm opinion of what I saw.

Feel free to disagree.
