I scoured a few... man, if you think there's some negativity here you ain't seen nothing. We're 0-2 after 13-3 with an elite QB. There is an uniform consensus that the sky is already past fallen with them. They want housecleaning top to bottom.
Assorted posts from assorted boards-
Watching this pathetic squad take the field and attempt to stop anybody is an exercise in futility that this organization has perfected for over a decade now. It's been so long I can't remember the last time the Chiefs had a respectable defense that could be relied on to show up every week.
Just got off the phone with GampyRAC-HCDC. He said not to worry. You don't want to show too much in these preseason games. When the regular season starts the defense will be much less vanilla.
I pointed out to him that these last two games were regular season games, not preseason.
He replied, "Oh. shite."
I, as a fan for my whole life of nearly 40 years, who have never seen the Chiefs in a Superbowl, nor have I seen a playoff win in nearly 20 years, nor have I seen a QB drafted in the last 27 years... I have a right to be pissed.
I'd like to see the defense force a 3 and out or maybe just more than one punt in a game. Pertyplease!
they seem willing to accept what is...just a joke of a way to run an organization! Until the Chiefs become committed to changing the mindset from accepting losing and average, to a must win thinking, all changes whether to the roster, coaching staff or front office are just superficial and spin.
It just seems like everything is a mess right now. Not sure what is going on...
On the contrary.....I think most posters (you included) here are quite knowledgable and have outlined many issues that need working on.....
I find it fascinating and sickening that Coach Crennel and Scott Pioli PUBLICLY STATE THAT THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM(S) ARE.
Perhaps the worst offense, however, came a few days ago when Crennel was asked if Sunday’s game against the Saints was a “must win.”
“I would like to win, definitely,” said Crennel. “I don’t know if it’s a must-win. I know we will try to look at it as a must-win because we want to win it, but we’re not going to fall off the earth if we lose it. But I really don’t want to tell those guys that. I want them to feel the urgency that we need to get better and we need to start quickly getting better.”
its sad the fans know more about whats wrong than the actual GM and HC. That is why we need a real GM and HC. Tired of Pioli and his goofy, crazy CIA ways. And he drafted Tyson Jackson...that is reason enough to fire him. Selling my season tickets until this team begins to make real, competent changes.
I can't however accept or respect losses in which the team doesn't even try that hard, or gets dejected, or try to lie to themselves that they can continue with their same attitude and make a comeback when down by twenty or more points. Those options are not acceptable. When they're down by twenty points, there's no sense of urgency in these past two games. At least not until half way through the fourth quarter. A sense of urgency doesn't mean playing scared. A sense of urgency is the realization that you don't have a whole lot of time to correct and overcome a bunch of mistakes that got you behind in the first place. A sense of urgency is turning fear into focus, and turning anger into action. Instead of wasting those emotions by getting down on themselves. A sense of urgency is turning those negative emotions into positive solutions. If a player makes a mistake and gets mad, they don't need to start yelling at the refs, or throwing their hands up, and throwing their helmet on the ground. Because those actions are a waste of those emotions. If someone makes a mistake and gets mad and embarassed, they need to bite their tongue, keep their nose down, and focus to make something good happen on the next play, instead of wallowing in self defeat, or making excuses by blaming the refs or somehow being gyped.
-- thought this was particularly insightful in that in both our losses you still see the fire- that sense of urgency
Their local media is scathing as well-
like HERE:
The Chiefs’ problems are with their coaches and players, but the bigger issue is about the man who brought in those coaches and players. Yes, this game and this season are on Pioli, and there’s no denying that anymore. And there’s no more denying another truth, whether you’re ready to read it or not: The Chiefs will never win big while Pioli is this team’s boss. His priorities are too misguided, his insecurities and denial too immense to allow Kansas City’s favorite team to win the Super Bowl that he was brought here to claim.
and HERE:
The evidence has mounted, and the verdict is in: The Patriot Way is outdated, unreliable and unsuccessful. Oh, sure, it works in Foxborough, Mass., and it’s still useful with coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady, the best value draft pick of all time and one of the best passers in history, too.
But in Kansas City? It’s a failure, same as it was in Cleveland, South Bend, New York and Denver.

tl;dr version: Chiefs suck, fans mad
Posted on 9/22/12 at 11:10 am to blueslover
Of course they have a right to be mad. How much money does the average fan pay in order to have tickets, merchandise, so on and so forth? These athletes never seem to remember just who they are truly playing for.
As much as it pains me to say it, I was very impressed with how Smith and Newton handed that L to the Giants Thursday. They apologized to the fans, something a lot more of these players should start doing when they take the field and give an abysmal performance.

Problem is with the coaches and management. They have some of the pieces they need to succeed.
In particular, the rushing game and the Defense. At the height of Schottenheimer's success, it was about running and the D with Christian Okoye/Marcus Allen and Neil Smith and Derrick Thomas anchoring that D for the longest.
When Vermeil was successful, it was about Priest Holmes and Larry Johnson giving Trent Green the opportunity to make Eddie Kennision look great.
They've got Jamaal Charles, Thomas Jones, Peyton Hillis, Derrick Johnson, a solid D-Backfield... They have some of the pieces. We just have to coach them up now.

Yea, I'd say that is pretty bad. I think we had a few posters that'd give these guys a run for their money though. Of course those posters were mainly people we've never seen on here before.

The Chiefs are just what we need to stop the pain.

yup, that's what makes for Saintards here, it's not like we haven't had success. Then some I don't think how truly historic the weight laid on the team from Bountycrap has been. It is after all an Interim Interim HC.
Tony Stewart and Jimmy Johnson have some of the best teams, equipment, and "systems" in racing. Put me in the drivers seat and the results won't be quite the same though.*
*I had to look up Sprint Cup champions before anyone accuses me of being a NASCAR-head.

Chiefs fans have been waiting a long, long, long time to have a good football team.

There should be a character limit on this board.

The funny thing is that there is one. I know, I've hit it before.

I don't mind reading your walls of text normally, Blues.
It's not like your spouting off or ranting an arbitrary opinion.
You have facts to back stuff up.
And yeah, I've been looking through their forums.
To call them despondent would be an understatement.
Not many think they have a chance today.

I didn't realize Jackson was that hated over there. It's not like he was a total bust...I mean he is still starting in year 4. But yeah, I don't think anyone thought he'd go top-5 so that was a major reach.

think it's a multiplied LSU factor there
not bust but Dorsey not much more than Sedrick Ellis
Bowe some big plays but highly criticized there for as many big drops
Travis Daniels there too
