Jordan:
Games Started- 31
Tackles- 98
TFL- 10
Sacks- 9
FF- 3
QB Hits- 17

Davenport:
Games Started-12
Tackles- 52
TFL- 10
Sacks- 10.5
FF- 4
QB Hits- 28

With that being said Cam Jordan is the best DE in Saints history, I don’t know the trajectory for Davenport’s career but he’s looking solid right now. All the potential is there we just need consistency.

Davenport is athletically a freak. I feel like him hurdling the panthers O- line last week on the field goal didn’t get enough attention.

As long as he continues to put in the work and get good coaching the sky is the limit for him.

I’m a Davenport fan, but did Jordan have a complimentary bookend that teams had to account for during his first 31 games?

Same situation Davenport has. Jordan on the other side. Your hypothesis is disproven already.

In 2011 and 2012 Galette and Smith combined for double digit sacks. Galette had double digit sacks in 2013 and 2014.

But Jordan was able to do well for 3 years basically solo after that.

So yeah Jordan did have help/rotation those first couple of years.

He was talking about the first two years. If you want to use combined sacks, than Davenport still has more help. In addition, we have much better interior guys and better coaching now than 2011-12.

I have a feeling this kid is going to come up big for us in a playoff game. He is still coming up ,but flashes of his talent are becoming more frequent.

Davenport might finish with double digit sacks. He’s turned it on the last two games

If he gets a sack a game from here on out he will do it.

Even if he doesn't get the sacks he's still getting pressure at a very good rate, as well as making a few big plays at big moments (like almost blocking the fg against Car and knocking the snot out of Ryan).

Just being Disruptive makes the move worth it.

Still, instead of taking him, how about a WR to help thomas and a DE the next year.

Front office is investing big in Davenboy who is good. But not great.

The problem I see with Davenport is at the snap.
He is always late and looks like he is hesitant

If he ever figures that out watch out, he will be elite
