Mike Triplett thinks so

LINK

I want him or Kareem Jackson. Frick people who say they want Brandon Flowers, he is a straight zone corner.

As long as this team doesn't draft one I think I'm good.

Agreed... The flowers people are nuts. Same crowd as "champ bailey" is going to be the 2nd string corner

PFF gave him an average grade this year and a very good score in 2013.

But 7 picks in two years is certainly good.
I don't know how he'd look here.

I've been telling people around me that I want Maxwell. However, Seattle has just come out recently, saying that his resigning is a priority. He may be willing to leave, for the right money, especially if they win the Super Bowl again.

Us and every other team in the league. He's going to get a bigger contract than Keenan so he's not coming here. Tramon williams is more realistic

Why would that mean he's not coming here?

HEY - starter kit. every team in the league will be looking at him. we have more cap room than zero of them. how many times have we signed one of the top FAs? BYRD is not the WORD, he's the exception, not the RULE. don't get your hopes up

I'd love Maxwell, and believe that we could find enough cap space to offer him a contract that he is looking for. With that being said, should we use more of our available cap space on one FA like last year, and ignore our other holes? It would almost have to be a repeat of last offseason where we cut vets (one of the OGs, one of the ILBs), go all out on one FA, and ignore other needs on the team.

We can easily make the money available to afford paying him more than Lewis. Not sure why that was even brought up by you

Off the top of my head Brees, Byrd, Lofton, Grubbs, Sharper, Jason David, Greer. I'm sure there are more too

Also, I never said it was the rule...

I'm not, but giving him more than Lewis got isn't undo-able. He's getting a little over $5 million/year.

HEY - starter kit

currently sitting at 165mil. We gave 1.5 FAs worth a damn to re-sign (Ingram and P Rob).

Restructure the big 4: Byrd, Graham, Galette, and Lofton saves 25mil. Not a single cut yet (Bush, Watson, Hawthorne, Grubbs, Evans), extension (Brees), or pay cut (Evans, Grubbs, Colston, Bunkley)

When did the Ssints board get the influx of rantards? You're going to restructure "the big 4" a year after you gave 3 of them new contracts? This isn't madden jabroni

And you must have gotten jason David, Greer, Lofton, and sharper mixed up with TOP FREE AGENTS....BYRD is the only premiere guy we've ever signed. Brees was considered benched damaged goods when he signed and we were the only team to offer. But whatever makes you feel better

you have no idea what you're talking about.

Why wouldn't you restructure their contract by converting their roster bonus due this year into a signing bonus? It was set up to be restructured and any cap savings would roll over. It has zero downside.

It is set up as a roster bonus to give the team protection in the event of an arrest or injury.

Yea, a lot of those guys were considered top free agents and made comparable money to Lewis

So you think Maxwell is going to get Revis money? He isn't a premiere guy

You realize the Chargers offered him a contract that he turned down

I do not think he is a Byrd or Revis level signing, but if they win the Superbowl again and he has a great performance his price tag is going to be super high. I do think Loomis could figure out a way to sign him, and I'd love the guy here. However, we not only need an upgrade at CB2, but also on the interior line and LB positions.

Cut Evans or Grubbs, then give Maxwell their money. Done. This is the missing piece on our defense, with it we would look like the '13-14 defense instead of the '14-15 defense
