The point

Your made the idiotic assertion that the reason Brady helped his team is because his wife makes more money, as if they do not have a prenuptial agreement where he probably gets nothing in the event of a divorce.

I think Brady actually realized he would have better players to protect his arse if they restructured him in the manner they did.

But hey Brees deserves the money (no he does, I am actually not being a smartass) so it's okay for him to demand it.

From what I am reading Manning's cap hit has never been higher than $18 million. I guess the Broncos are better are paying more while making it more cap friendly.

ETA: There is also that pesky restructure mid contract that "does not make sense."

I made a point that his family has other sources of income worth hundreds of millions.

And I made the point that they gave him security early and gave him a raise well before he was due one way back when

He's had multiple large contracts, and has a career earnings of 162.8 million. Brees is at 150.5

He actually got paid more in his restructure from 2 years ago.

Correct. It isn't his job to manage the cap for the Saints.

Denver has had a cap hit of $70.5 million for Manning, and he's not even playing now. Yet they've managed to build an awesome roster. Brees has had a cap hit of $70 million.

And I made the point Brees is not exactly financially insecure. Yes, he has the right to get paid and he does not have to restructure to help the Saints or anyone else, but I think what Brady did for the team is a huge factor in why they are not 5-9.

Where has anyone denied this?

A similar move to Brady would have been to extend Brees 5 extra years after 2009 and give him a raise for 2010 and 2011 despite being under contract

Security is big to the NFL players. Also, toms recent restructure had nothing to do with the salary cap. It freed up millions for Kraft from Escrow and he was actually given more money to do jt

His contract is now the 9th highest. Saints stated they wanted to wait until this season to extend, and he actually did restructure during this season

Other than the Broncos, you are using examples of teams that are complete dumpster fires.

ETA: There's obviously ways to fairly compensate a top 10 QB and be cap friendly. Pats, Broncos

Actually, I was using an example of what the going rate is right now for shitty QBs.

If you want examples:

Aaron Rodgers $22m
Russell Wilson $21.9m
Big Ben $21.85m
Cam Newton $20.76m

All playoff QBs this year except Ben and he may be one also.

ETA: Also all lower than Brees' cap hit.

ETA2: Nice try.

Cap hits:

Rogers: $18 million
Cam: $13 million
Ben: $17.3 million
Russell: $7 million but I will allow for the fact it's the first year of his mega contract.

Brees is not responsible for back loading his contract.

Unused cap space rolls over from year to year go. Year 1 was around a $10 million hit...

Well let's see, how many of you tards would take a paycut at ur jobs. Brees is maybe the second smartest QB of all time, maybe behind Manning, the original problem is a front office who would not forsee cap issues we are having with this terrible contract among others.

I believe Jeff Ireland takes over next year.

I meant 4k seasons BTW, I was so pissed typing imI added a 0.

My bad, thought you were giving me examples of "shitty QBs" making more than Brees.

Actually, I was using an example of what the going rate is right now for shitty QBs.

Brees is/was a great QB but let's not get carried away.

Also, I highly doubt the Saints never approached Brees about a restructure to curb this problem. If they never did, they deserve the dumpster fire that is to come.

You said it did not make sense to restructure mid contract. I will go ahead and throw P. Mannings mid contract restructure at you.

I was giving an example of non dumpster fires.

Here's some more QB salaries:

Eli: $21m
Rivers: $20.8m
Ryan: $20.75m
Flacco: $20.1m
Cutler: $18.1m
Stafford: $17.7m
Smith: $17m
Dalton: $16m
